Re: Why I Love This Forum

Thank you for your words Mary. I canNOT imagine going through the last 6 months without the comfort and knowledge I found here. Armed with information I learned from you all I've been able to face the storm of emotions and flurry of activities. When I can't find relief for his symptoms I come straig...

Re: Twisted tales (in photos) please add inappropriate photos of your own

That's what I'm talkin about We own Jack, got him from a commercial producer in San Fran CA. One of our favorite pastimes is to take him out in the convertible and drive through fast food restaurants. We usually get something for free :P He can't drive, have to put him in the back cuz he can't see ...

Re: Claw Hand Effect Xeloda - Advice?

That is good to hear rnwife. Thanks. I hear you on it being tough - first round wasn't too bad after the first week but this time I am still exhausted all the time even in week three. And my platelets were really low during my mid cycle visit so I am hoping they rebound and I can get oxi #3 Tuesday...

Re: Claw Hand Effect Xeloda - Advice?

I have the claw hand (where my fingers and thumb kind of freeze for a few minutes), but am pretty sure it is related to the oxi as it only really occurs during the week or so after the infusion and not the rest of the time while I am on xeloda. My palms are kind of shiny, but so far no xeloda relat...

Re: Claw Hand Effect Xeloda - Advice?

Thank you so much Julie and Eric - I will definitely mention the antibiotics to his onc! Definitely has to be part of the HFS for sure - so I am praying it will subside! He works so much with his hands on on cars in his spare time, we need his hands back! I feel better knowing it may reverse when of...

Claw Hand Effect Xeloda - Advice?

My husband is currently on the Xelox regimen after having LAR surgery & Ileo reversal. The week BEFORE he had the first infusion of Oxaliplatin we noticed his knuckles tight, shiny and he cannot make a fist. Therefore it appears to be a delayed effect of his 28 chemoradiation treatments with Xel...
