Re: Update on Mom, prayers needed...

Thinking of you and hoping that your Mom gets her miracle. I know how hard it is to watch your parent suffer with such an awful disease, my heart goes to you and your Mom.

Re: Peejay

Really sad to hear this news. He lost his life far too early. This wretched disease has robbed him, his wife and daughter, and his entire family.

Re: End of the journey...No more treatment available

I am so so sorry to hear this. I know the pain and frustration and fear with knowing there is nothing left to try. Sending you, your Dad and your family nothing but the best. He is lucky to have you and you are lucky to have him. Enjoy each and every moment that you can.

Re: The end of our journey...

Well after stopping treatment on Monday, and admitting my Dad to Hospice services on Friday morning, my Dad passed very quickly Friday night. It's still a shock. His death is on the same day as his fathers death, also from cancer, 14 years prior. My Dad was the best of the best. http://m.legacy.com/...

The end of our journey...

These last 12 months have been so hard on my Dad and my Mom, my entire family. My Dad has reached the end of his journey, he will begin hospice care this week. We are all devastated, he has only just turned 60. So much life left to live, stolen by this awful disease. Thank you for all the support an...

Re: Vitamin C kills tumor cells in KRAS/BRAF - Study

RP 1954, Thanks for the info about the twice weekly vitamin C infusions to get therapeutic results, I am starting this protocol next week. I will probably bankrupt the Medicare system :) Please keep us up to date! My Dad is BRAF mutant so I would love to know how well you do on it. We are exploring...

Re: Access to drugs....

Jennj You mentioned that your father is being treated with a melanoma drug. Can you tell me the reason for this. I was diagnosed with melanoma in June. My onc for the melanoma suggested that my colon onc put me on a drug for the melanoma but he refused. I would love the name of that drug and treatm...

Re: Access to drugs....

My family has first hand experience with this situation. Memorial Sloan does the circulating tumor test here in the US. My Dad was prescribed meds FDA approved for melanoma and they were denied coverage by his insurance. The doctor at Sloan helped us with the appeals process and so far we have had 1...

Re: Liquid biopsy results

Thank you so much Mariane and ieowi. This is different from Foundation One as it's simply a blood test, no tissue sample is needed. It's advantage is that it gives you information regarding any new mutations that may develop during treatment in hopes of explaining why you become resistant to treatme...

Liquid biopsy results

Hello, My Dad got his liquid biopsy results back from MSKCC and they were very interesting! It turns out they found my Dad had acquired a MET amplification between June and Sep 8th when the two biopsies were taken. Our oncologist is suggesting we switch to Crizotinib with Vemurafenib. Our current re...
