Colonoscopy through a stoma

Happy Thanksgiving all

I am due to have a colonoscopy this month, although I guess it would be a tummy oscopy! What I am wondering is this, I was hoping to have the procedure without sedation, has anyone some this, does it hurt or is it jut uncomfortable

Re: PICC line

Hi I had a picc line in for a year as I did treatment pre and post operative. The only problem I had was I had an allergy to the stat lock adhesive, so they placed it on top of a mepilex border dressing and that solved that problem. if you are getting the Picc Line dressing changes at home vs chemo ...

Re: Open LAR procedure recovery

Well I had only one surgery an abdominal perineal resection and I was in severe pain for months, thought the pain was never going to go away, but it did . However the perineal wound took 7 months to completely heal

Just really fatigued now from all the treatment I did over 10 month period!

Allergy to flange adhesives

Hey everyone... I'm back, lol had my first CT scan and blood work since treatment and everything was all clear, yay! However, I have very sensitive skin and right now I have had a reaction to the adhesive on the flanges, I am currently using Hollister products. Any suggestions would certainly be app...

Re: PICC line

I have to laugh at this topic remembering my own experience. I work at a clerk on a surgical floor in the hospital. So when I was diagnosed with cancer .. one of the doctors I work with put it in for me because I was so anxious about it. One of our gorgeous ortho doctors held my hand while he put it...

Re: How do you tell a 5 year old daddy's girl that her daddy is dieing?

I am sorry to hear that your family is going through this most difficult time. The closest I can come to this is that our daughter died from injuries that she sustained in a motor vehicle accident several years ago and her youngest brother was five at the time. She use to take him on dates with her....

Re: CEA Levels after 5th round of Chemo

Hi, I do not know much about what CEA level means, I was a stage 3 as well and just completed a really rough year, I did 35 straight days of chemo and 26 radiation treatments at the same time ... my CEA levels were almost normal after that. Then had a huge surgery leaving me with a permanent colosto...
