Now on Hospice-How to Live While Dying????

Quick update that got us to this point: my DH had to have an ileostomy done on 1/25/16 due to a small bowel obstruction from the peritoneal mets. They also inserted a Gastric tube to use if needed. He's had problems with dehydration, he just can eat very small amounts and he's had a lot of abdominal...

Your mom started the Xilonix trial? Where is your mom going for her trial treatment?? Looks like we are both from Michigan! --Cindie

Need some new trial options/Running out of Time

Good Morning!! Hope everyone had a wonderful holiday with your family or friends--although I know there are some of you that are actively struggling today due to this disease! Unfortunately, I know that is just the reality of where some of us are on this cancer journey! I just wanted to update you o...

Re: Lonsurf worth it?

My DH was only able to complete 2 cycles of the Lonsurf. CT scans were done yesterday after only 2 cycles because he was losing a little weight and had a little abdominal pain for a couple of days. The scans showed significant disease progression in the liver and the peritoneum. The lung scan result...

Re: Avastin and blood thinners , does anyone here do both? How bad is this idea?

My husband was on both Avastin and Lovenox (due to a DVT) for approximately 14 months and didn't have any problems. He had to stop the Avastin when the FOLFIRI was discontinued due to disease progression. ---Cindie

Re: Lonsurf worth it?

My DH started taking it the end of Seotember, 2015. He has completed 2 cycles of it and is scheduled for the next cycle next week. He has had minimal side effects--a little fatigue and some neutropenia. He has been able to stay very active. Unfortunately, we don't know yet how effective the drug is ...

Re: CRC/Immunotherapy Expert Roundtable Meeting This Week

I will be praying that some new research ideas for those that are CRC MSS come out of this exciting meeting! My DH is running out of viable treatment options! He continues to be in the TAS-102 trial, but we don't have another good option after thal! Thank you for keeping us updated about this landma...

Re: TAS 102

Trial Update: My DH's neutrophil count came back up without any injections, so we are thankful for that. He started the 2nd cycle of the meds this week. He's a little more fatigued, but still very functional. He isn't scheduled for any scans until the 3 month mark. I asked our oncologist if he could...

Re: Sorry quiet for a few days

I look forward to hearing more info from you! I always learn something new! You will be in my prayers as you restart chemo! My DH had 18 treatments with FOLFIRI and AVASTIN. Overall, he tolerated it quite well! It kept him stable for 9 months.

Thank you so much for this information! It gives us hope!

What is the best way to find out what other additional sites/locations are accepting patients in these trials?

Thanks, Cindie

Re: TAS 102

My DH finished the first month of the TAS-102. He felt great! No significant side effects. We just went back to get lab work done and get his 2nd months supply of meds. But, we just found out his neutrophil count is too low to restart the meds and now he has to wait and get more lab work done to see...
