Re: Switching back to Pembro

@bitchslapped: Re stent. Sorry missed that. :) Yup we are also debating on what to do with the stent. I think everybody would feel better if its there so the endoscopist who put it in says we can leave it there as long as its patent.

Re: Switching back to Pembro

You have come a long way plastikos. Immunotherapy a BIG DEAL...a real success story thus far & @ a young age. I hope you continue to update regarding dosing frequency (not clear on that) & decision re: stent. Sometimes I'm of the mind - If it ain't broke, don't fix it, however maybe you don...

Re: Switching back to Pembro

Just bumping this same thread as an update rather than create a new one. Been on Keytruda as monotherapy for 18 months now (with SIRT somewhere in the middle of it). PET-CT last Saturday still read as NED. Stretching intervals in between doses now a week at a time. GI and I wondering what to do with...

Been following this. Hoping the results turn out to be favorable. By the way, have you been tested for MSI status?

Re: New Stage IV Diagnosis

Why is surgery not an option? Go to a major cancer center. Look for a team willing to do the surgery. Test her tumor for MSI status. If they can take everything out and if she is a candidate for immuno or even just aggressive chemo then I don’t see why “cure” is impossible.

I believe there are a lot if cured survivors. Congrats. You are in a good place now. Have your tumor (if possible) tested for MSI.

Re: I need any suggestions

If it’s available where she lives I would tell her to look into SIRT to shrink here liver tumors.

Re: Colon Cancer with mets to liver

No growth is better than progression (growth) but not as good as shrinkage. I think continuing chemo is the right step but only if the goal is to get to a point where surgery is an option. Ask your doctors if they plan to do surgery. Of course the decision on how aggressive you want to be will depen...

Re: Recommendations for stage 4/liver mets

Hi. Try to get into a major cancer center like MSK or MDA. Try looking into SIRT (Y90), immunothsrapy or even just a new chemo regimen. Lots of options. Good luck.

Will update in detail later.

Re: Switching back to Pembro

Even my oncologist has asked me to be off any supplements. I only take aspirin on his advice and occasional curcumin tablets. These immunotherapy drugs are so new that doctors don't have data on drug interactions. If I understood the paper on Vit D and pdl1, it may be harmful at high doses. Please ...
