Re: T3N0M0 Rectal Cancer- refuse surgery?

Hi Sam's Wife - From your signature he did surgery, but did he have complete clinical response to the chemo radiation? Did the tumor disappear totally? Even though he did surgery and it seems there might be a possibly of spread based on your signature. I really hope its nothing. But its such a hard...

Re: T3N0M0 Rectal Cancer- refuse surgery?

I would have preferred TEM? TME? Anything, rather than colostomy, because I knew my husband would be upset about it. He just wanted it out without a 2nd opinion. During pre surgery (talk) with dr & family, family asked something about the biopsy, after chemo/rad. To be able to watch & wait. ...

Re: Hemorrhoid banding, my experience

So when is the scope? I hope soon. I'm sure I have already told you, but I'll put it here too. I have a hemerhoid. They never suggested anything for it (banding). Maybe because mine wasnt bleeding a bunch? But one of my 2 polyps were precancerous. I'm glad you are getting checked. I think the age ne...

Re: Need help....for my folks.

I was gonna say brat diet but when Betty mentioned 5fu, that is what happened with my husband. They reduced some & he got constipated. So they moved it back up. My husband was having cramps as soon as he ate & someone told me to watch out for folic acid. I think it was lee or painintheass. 5...

Re: Chills and fever after APR

Not sure about fever & chills. I think he had both. But he definatley had a yellowish drainage from his incision. It took a month after surgery but pain & drainage showed up. As soon as I saw it we got onto the drs. Didn't want to end up with a wound vac & a years worth of infection. Aft...

What about prunes. I've seen someone on here eat a dried one once a day or something. Maybe a prune & fiber would do it? Or every other day. Just taking a guess tho.

Re: Flat Polyps and Follow Up CT

I had a family member get a flat polyp taken out. Here wasnt cancerous, but they said it needed to come out. They sent her to a specialist in that surgery in Wash. DC They ended up cutting it out the same way a colonoscopy is. Not sure if that was laparoscopic. That is just the way she worded it. I ...
