Re: Lung Thingy

Hi sonofafighter, In my experience, it sounds like your father's doctor is following protocol. Stable is a GOOD thing when it comes to cancer, and minimal could mean .1-1mm growth. Alot of times an oncologist will wait about 3 months or so (after last CT) to do another scan for surveillance. If ther...

Re: STIVARGA (Regorafenib) - ONGOING PATIENT EXPERIENCES

Hi all, I've been on Stivarga since January. My oncologist started me on 3 pills (120mg) per day for 3 weeks on 1 week off. I started to get alot of the side effects that you all have mentioned, so he cut me down to 2 pills (80mg) per day. Since the reduction in dose, the mouth sores have gone to ju...

Re: Trying to select a surgeon and hospital in Mass

Hi Tromeo, I've been going to MGH (Concord) since 2003, and have had the same oncologist (Dr. Jon DuBois) from the start. MGH has cancer centers located in Boston, Concord, and Waltham (there may be others, but not sure), so depending on your location in Massachusetts, you have options. My oncologis...

Checking in

Sorry I haven't been on the board for a while, but things have been pretty busy in my personal life. I feel like I've missed soo much. Since I was last here, the pathology report on my lung came back as a new primary cancer, but stage 1A, so no chemo or radiation needed. I am VERY fortunate that the...

Well... they just took out what was needed (not the whole lobe). Early pathology shows likelihood of CC mets. I will hopefully know more in a couple days. Thanks, everyone.

Re: VATS tomorrow

Thanks everyone. Not sure of the SUV, just know it was very noticeable (bright) on the scan he showed me. Kenny, He said that it's not showing the normal characteristics of metastasis, but from his experience shows characteristics of a primary. Either way, he wants it out of there ASAP. My Oncologis...

Re: Sure in hell hope not

Hope the scan comes back clean. in the mean time, try to relax. Stress can really compromise your immune system, which in return, can inhibit your body from fighting off anything else that can be causing your symptoms.
