Re: Signet Ring Cell Cancer of the Sigmoid Colon

Hello Colon Cancer Warriors-- I had my 18 month post-surgery and 12 month post-chemo appointment about 10 days ago. The scans show no evidence of disease and my CEA and lab work is holding stable. After spending last summer feeling so ill from chemotherapy and recovering from surgery, I hoped and p...

Re: cecum removal appendix too?

 I hope you continue to fight on to get this straightened out. I had a similar situation where my colonoscopy report came back stating that my uterus was healthy. Gives me hope that my NED status can continue!!
Do you still have CEA tests & follow up CT scans?

So sorry for your diagnosis Adam. If you put "signet" in search it will take you to threads with that component. HIPEC may be a possibility. Dr. Jason Foster is another excellent surgeon at University of Nebraska.

Re: Confusing pathology results

Personally since there is only 3% increased survival I would not sign up for chemo with all the possible side effect., but that certainly has to be a personal/family decision. My oncologist recommended against chemo because of my microsatellte instabily. 4 years NED!

cecum removal appendix too?

I had a pelvic & abdominal CT scan Nov. 17 for 4 year follow up. Report summary: "All Clear" NED. However among other details it also stated appendix located and is unremarkable. The problem is I thought they removed my appendix! So I started making calls: Surgeons office nurse: "...

signet ring cell

I just joined the forum & I'm so happy to hear of a 6 year signet ring cell colon cancer survivor! There is so little information out this rare form of colon cancer. The research usually indicates poor prognosis. I was diagnosed in July 2013 @ age 58 with a large stage IIb signet ring cell tumor...
