Re: Side effects with chemo

The terrible bowel cramping/spasms I had with Capecitabine (Xeloda) were intolerable/constant and were the reason I stopped my Chemo after consultation with my Onc. Note: I was Colon 2A and taking Chemo for my specific diagnosis/situation was optional. I only made it through 2 rounds-spasms started ...

Re: Diarrhoea only at Night

Nocturnal diarrhea is one of the less common side-effects listed for Capecitabine (Xeloda). I had it and think I used Immodium to 'calm" it down when I did.
I hope he finds some relief to his problem.

Re: Stage IIA: Chemo or not?

I had the same difficulty in deciding re:Xeloda for my Colon 2A sigmoid post-resection. My Onc said it would give me the few % which would be the same % as an exercise regimen. I thought I could do both-which for me was not possible. I decided to take Xeloda but stopped after 2 cycles of it- I was s...

Re: Xeloda joint and muscle pain/arthritis

Hi ktwmn, Sorry for the late reply. I had significant joint/athritic pain while I took Xeloda. Below is what I posted about my Xeloda experience which I started the end of Dec.2014. Because I was Colon 2A, it was up to me if I wanted to do 8 cycles Xeloda or not(I forget my dosage: 5 pills in total:...

Hi DE, I have been following your problems when I have been lurking. I certainly hope the Doctors figure out how to help you. Wishing you the best outcome of results. I am suprised the colonoscopy Doctor/Nurse did not give you any outcome information after your recent colonoscopy. I have found the p...

Sigmoid 2A -stopped Xeloda after 2 cycles

Hi all, Sorry I have not updated my situation; I have only been lurking. End of Dec.2015 I did start on Xeloda.(Thanks to our Cdn health system here in BC, I did not occur any expense for my Xeloda.) First cycle went fairly well. Felt like I was getting poisoned, with occl stabbing pain in abdomen, ...

Sigmoid 2A cancer-on Xeloda

Hi, Thank-you all for replying to my questions or even reading my posts. I did decide to go ahead with the Xeloda(Capecitabine) and have been on it for only 1 week so far with no significant side-effects to complain about yet. My GP and Surgeon agreed with me to go ahead so I felt a lot better about...
