I'm just heartbroken over hearing this. It's been an incredibly bad year as we lose yet another beautiful soul. Rest In Peace, Tom, you were an inspiration to us all.

Re: Ovarian Cyst Question

My colon cancer went to my ovary so please just make sure you follow up until you know for sure if a cyst or not. When I complained to oncologist about pain in that area, he said rare for cancer to spread there and kinda blew it off. MRI showed large mass. He's not my oncologist any more.

Re: Any Chemo Lifers? Incurable Stage 4

Hi! I'm supposedly incurable with multiple, scattered lung mets. Folfiri was starting to fail so now I'm back to Folfox, which I had after original colon resection. To date I've had 40+ chemo treatments. You are amazing at 70+. It's as emotionally draining as it is physically, but every day I'm with...

Re: My mom's journey is over

I'm so sorry to hear this sad news. I lost my mom a year ago and though I know it was a blessing, it's still hard every day without her. My thoughts are with you.

Thanks for checking in! We worry when we don't hear from you in a while! Go have a great vacation and forget all the other stuff. I just got back today from a week away. Leaving it all behind is absolutely necessary for you and Bean.

Re: 5-fu pump disconnect question

I have a visiting nurse service that disconnects me at home. Seems like standard protocol at my cancer center. Is that an option for you?

Re: New member.

Wow. Look at my signature ... our journey so far very similar. I'm sorry you're going through an emotional tough patch right now. I don't work so don't need to manage that part. I'm a little unusual (weird?) in that I've really rolled with the punches through the last three years. I'm a chemo-for-li...

Re: The Grim Reaper took another swipe at me !!

Diane,
I truly believe in signs from loved ones, even if they show in very subtle ways. My sisters and I see bluebirds as our parents checking in. And since their deaths, within 6 months of each other, we see them all the time.

Re: Stage IV for 4.5 years.....NED again!!

Can I ask, if you had to do it again, would you do the laser lung surgery in Europe, or just do ablations? I'm at crossroads but feel frozen in indecision and fear. Folfiri kept lung mets stable for more than a year but they're growing again. Trying to decide if should try to get into NIH trial, hea...

I'm so sorry for your loss. My mom went from fine to gone within half a day. The suddenness was shocking and still is, even though we know it was also a blessing. Hoping you hold onto the good memories.

Re: TIL Immunotherapy at NCI

I'm so happy for you, Celine!! What a walking miracle you are. I have bilateral lung mets and just failed Folfiri. At this point I'm going to start looking at the trials. Your blog is so incredible helpful to me. Thank you for taking the time to keep us all up to date.

Re: What to expect from irinotecan and bevacizumab?

I've had lots and lots of Folfiri+Avastin! My hair thinned a lot but never lost it all. Some people do, some don't. Don't have her do something rash before she sees what direction it's going. Ive had potty issues and heart burn. If I had chemo on Wednesday and takedown on Friday, then I usually was ...
