Re: Anyone with Kras G12V or G12D, NIH trial needs you

I was getting pre-screened for the trial, but my low platelets exclude me. Hoping to get them up and try again.

Re: Low Platelets, Surgery, and Chemo Dilemma

I did Foundation One testing three years ago, and actually it was your story here, Cynthia, that made me ask my oncologist if I need a retest after so much time. He was going to contact them. I'm not sure if I'd need a bioposy of a tumor, or just blood work. Does Keytruda effect platelet count a lot?

Low Platelets, Surgery, and Chemo Dilemma

I'm once again at the crossroads and uncertain which way to go. Hopefully some of you have experience or suggestions! My continuous low platelet counts caused me to sporadically get Folfox this past late winter into spring. With all the breaks, my CEA started climbing and is now 145. Scans show grow...

Re: Low Platelets

My new norm for platelets is low 50s and I still get chemo. My oxali is around 60 to 70 % strength, and we have to stretch it out to every three weeks. We've been tossing around different things to try to get the platelets up because it's a real concern. Disqualifies me from some trials.

Re: Hand and foot syndrome

I've had HFS so bad in past it's delayed my chemo by a week or two. It lessened slightly when we tried holding ice packs during my 5FU bolus, and off and on for next few days. I also have every lotion under the sun (helps a little with peeling but not much). Unrelated, my oncologist is experimenting...

Re: Feeling very anxious port removal this afternoon

I had one taken out with just a local and it didn't bother me at all. Just a little tugging, but no pain. You will do great I'm sure!

Re: Stage 3b with ovarian met recurrence and healthy now

You're not alone! After a colon resection and six months Folfox, I thought I was done. At three-month checkup my CEA was up and I had mets on ovary and liver. More chemo, big operation, and waited another couple months. Another CEA jump and it was in both lungs. I've been stable for a while with lot...

I'm a mystery ... CEA rising, good scans

Due to continuous low platelets (hanging on at 60), I've been off oxalyplatin and have only had 5FU and avastin for last few infusions. My CEA has been creeping upward for last few months, from 18 to now 26, but both a CT and a PET showed nothing new and lung mets stable. So, anyone want to guess wh...

I'm so happy to hear of your continued good health! You're very inspiring to those of us still in the trenches. It's been a pretty rough year with all our losses on this board, so good news and celebrations are a bright light!

Re: Ovarian Cyst Question

My colon cancer went to my ovary so please just make sure you follow up until you know for sure if a cyst or not. When I complained to oncologist about pain in that area, he said rare for cancer to spread there and kinda blew it off. MRI showed large mass. He's not my oncologist any more.

Re: Any Chemo Lifers? Incurable Stage 4

Hi! I'm supposedly incurable with multiple, scattered lung mets. Folfiri was starting to fail so now I'm back to Folfox, which I had after original colon resection. To date I've had 40+ chemo treatments. You are amazing at 70+. It's as emotionally draining as it is physically, but every day I'm with...
