Re: 《 The Times They Are a-Changin' 》

I beg to differ. Many people, especially younger ones, do not use Facebook, nor they want to. It's Facebook that is dying out if anything.

Re: COVID-19 vaccine thoughts/concerns

I will be first in the queue when it becomes available. I'm not that concerned about covid for myself (I am relatively young and people my group usually recover with no issues -although I've seen exceptions first hand) but for my elderly grandparents and all people who are immunosuppressed who I cou...

Re: Does anyone NOT feel supported

Dear BritinCanada So sorry to read your post. Your husband's horrid behavior reminds me of my father. So many stories I could tell you. Now that my mother is no longer with us, the penny has dropped however, since no one wants anything to do with him, including his daughters (my sister and I) The on...

Re: Irinotecan + mAbs (???)

Thank you Veronica! So the mAbs is Vectibix . . . I'm so happy to hear that it worked well for your mom . . . hoping that my husband will respond well too! Yes it could be Vectibix, or Avastin. If your husband has not had Vectibix or Erbitux yet and is not KRAS mutant I would expect they will give ...

Re: Irinotecan + mAbs (???)

Hi Jep With "mabs" your oncologist could be referring to either Erbitux or Vectibix (which are their commercial names:the actual drug names are Panitumumab and Cetuximab. Both are very similar); or he is still referring to Avastin, which is the commercial name of the drug Bevacizumab. As y...

Re: MSI or MSS

Hi Stu

From an European perspective (I know you're in the UK)- my mum was tested very early on. We're in Italy. It could have been because of her family history, however.

Best wishes

Veronica

Re: Can someone who is stage 4 really end stage still benifit from Keytruda?

My mum is no longer here unfortunately. But if I were in your shoes, I would really, really hope she tries it. Of course it carries risks, especially if she is very weak already. It also carries enormous potential, but at the end of the day, is the doctor who has to assess if she can withstand the t...

National Cancer Reserach Institute Survey (UK Only)

My cousin (who lives in Scotland) is a Nurse and she brought to my attention this survey from the NCRI (UK's National Cancer Research Institute) is collating information from patients and caregivers (even former, like myself) to help steer the future of research. I was happy to fill it- I am just sh...

Re: Stage I've colon cancer Add Vectibix

Hi there, My Mum had lots of Vectibix and as far as we were concerned it is a miracle drug. It gave her 2 years she wouldn't have had without it. She was a stage 4b from diagnosis with mets across all her body and after adding vectibix she actually went on complete remission for a while. She did hav...

Re: Eye Dr and dentist before chemo start (?)

Hi Jep, I'm on my way out but I just wanted to say that I would definitely advise your husband to have his dental checks before starting chemo. my mother had several problem with her teeth during treatments (exacerbated by the chemo) which cause problems as it delayed her treatments and generally wa...

Re: Things Not to Say and the Responses I want to Make (Rant)

I stopped being polite about stupid suggestions very early on. It was incredible how my mother's diagnosis suddenly made every Tom, Dick and Harry we knew a cancer specialist. No matter how many oncologists, surgeons, and specialists we consulted in our Italy, the UK, Europe, and worldwide, everybod...
