Looking for Options for un-resectable lung Mets

Hello All, It has been awhile since I have posted. I have been doing treatments for my lung mets since April of 2016. I have been through all the typical chemo treatments i.e.. Irinotecan with Avatin, and Cetuximab and even tried Oxaliplatin at a reduced dose due to anaphylaxis in 2014, only to be s...

Re: APR Wound Healing

I had my APR on December 18th 2014, and I still have some drainage to this day. It is not real bad, seems to get a little worse during my chemo cycles. In July of 2015 I was declared cancer free, But after only 6 months they found 5 spots on my lungs. Now I am on Folfiri. Seems to be working w...

Mets To the lungs Questions

Been a while since I have been on here. I have some questions: I finished my last round of chemo for rectal cancer in July of 2015. All has been clear until my last scan revealed 2 1 cm nodules in my left lung ( 1 upper 1 lower) and a 6 mm nodule in my lower right lung with smaller nodes in the righ...

The Power of a simple smile!

Today was another treatment day for me, only two more to go (1 month) and this year long life changing event will hopefully be complete. Today something happened to me that I felt I needed to share. There is a woman who I have seen at the treatment center on many occasions. We have talked several ti...

CEA Down to 3.2 Is that a good number?

My CEA is down to 3.2, 5 weeks post surgery CEA was 5.7, guess it is going in the right direction. No more Oxaliplation for me due to severe reaction. :( Been 5-fu and leucovorin only for the last 3 treatments.

Re: 3 Day Hospital Stay after 2nd dose of Oxaliplatin

Wow! That had to have been very scary, and glad you recovered quickly. Not to be scary, butt 5FU can do weird things to cardiac function, so just be aware that I think it's possible your reaction could have been to 5FU and not the oxi. I hope your next round is trouble-free. Bev I might would think...

3 Day Hospital Stay after 2nd dose of Oxaliplatin

After completing the the infusion of my second round of Oxaliplatin, the nurse checked my vital signs and my heart rate was elevated to 115. she decided to wait a few minutes to check my vitals again before starting me on the 5-fu pump. After a few minutes she checked my vitals again and my HR was 1...
