I stumbled across this website

www.oncolink.org. It seems informative and written so the lay-person can easily understand. It seems more suited for those just getting started, but i thought I'd give it a mention.

Re: PET scan scheduled

My mom is rather claustrophobic. She mentioned it was trying on her claustrophobia, but totally doable.

Re: Personal advice really needed

I'm one of the ones who would say, give her the boot asap. You have enough going on right now. However, DON'T take that advice until the more diplomat members chime in. It sounds like you are asking how to turn this situation into a win-win. My best advice is to wait for some of the calmer heads to ...

Re: I am so mad I could scream!!!!!

Hi Jan, I never meant to imply you weren't totally competent, or not the best person to be handling this. I was only asking if you had someone you could hand the stress and irritation of this off to. Sounds like you have a solid handle on it. Just wanted to retract any insinuation you needed help an...

I'm not a patient, but I vote for sugar free Metamucil. I make it with half the water to gulp it down, followed by the other half glass of plain water.

Re: I am so mad I could scream!!!!!

Jan, do you have anyone you could delegate this to? I only ask because its stressful and time consuming. I know I would absolutely be willing to do something like this for a sick friend. I took on medical appointments, referrals, insurance coverage, etc for mom. Not because she isn't capable, but be...

Re: First time here, and so so scared...

Mona, it sounds like you caught things very early. That is great news. I'm sorry it's been such a rough road. It must be so scary having young kids depending on you. Regardless of the scan results, you deserve to live life more fully than waiting to go back to bed. Consider talking with your doctor ...

Re: 15cm polyp

If I were in your shoes, I would NOT F**=...mess with cancer. I'm only a caregiver\observer, but I would go for the more aggressive treatment if in ended up in patient shoes. BUTT, remember...none of us are doctors. Get multiple professional opinions. We are chiming in our $0.02...and some (specific...

No benefit to chemo for end stage cancer???

None? No benefit? The article speaks in absolutes. But it is a reminder for patients and family to initiate hard questions.

Re: Thankful but still scared as hell

I'm so sorry you're going through all this. I hope you can find a way to quell the worries. Your scan will be what it will be. Try to remember worrying will only take away from you until November. I know others will chime in will better and more specific advice. But I wanted to make sure to acknowle...
