Re: Painful sex after surgery and radiation? Anyone else suffer with this?

My nurse called me today and she and my doctor are suggesting I go back to MD Anderson. She said I have a rare case due to the fact that my tumor had grown into my vaginal wall and so much had to be cut out. Also 50 radiation treatments just made things much worse. So hopefully someone has answers f...

Re: Venting !!

My nurse called me today and said they'd like me to go back to MD Anderson because nobody local specializes in these problems. Mine is a rare case I was told. Possible surgery to graft tissue from one area and lengthen my vagina? We will see..... I just want to be a girl again.

Re: Venting !!

Oh I'm glad I found this thread. I've been online searching for some support and options. Sex is extremely painful. Surgery and radiation shrunk everything in there SO much. Is there such thing as vaginal reconstruction?

Painful sex after surgery and radiation? Anyone else suffer with this?

I've searched the forum but couldn't find anything. Wondering if there are other women suffering from painful sex after having so much radiation.

Re: Colon Cancer, Obesity and Bariatric Surgery

I've wondered about his also. I was overweight before my diagnosis and now it's even worse. I've gained roughly 50 pounds since my diagnosis and it's not coming off. I want to be NED for at least a year before I consider it again. But I'm anxious to hear if anyone else has done this.

Re: Second opinion

I got a second opinion at MD Anderson and I think everyone should go for a second opinion. What does it hurt? It just validates if you are on the right track or if there are other options you need to consider.

Anybody have permanent skin damage from taking ERBITUX??

I took my last Erbitux treatment back in July. I had severe rash on my face and neck. My face has somewhat cleared up. When I wear makeup you can't see any trace of it. My neck hasn't cleared up as much. It's like I have permanent spots all over my neck that won't go away. Just wondering if anyone e...

Re: looking for people that have taken erbitux- hair question

Thanks for the responses! I feel like a werewolf! I am hoping it soon goes back to normal. I was just scared this might be permanent since it's been almost 5 months. The rash was AWFUL!!!!!!! I'm so glad to be done with this drug. Hopefully I won't have to do it again but I was told if I had another...

looking for people that have taken erbitux- hair question

I took my last erbitux treatment in June. My eyebrows and eyelashes grew crazy! My eyelashes curled and turned inward and really get in my way. They still haven't gone back to normal and I'm wondering if they ever will. Has anybody else experienced this and if so did it go away?

Re: Anyone deal with lymphedema after colon cancer??

Thanks for responding. I went to a physical therapist today. We are going to try compression socks and see how I respond to that. I am only 41 and feel like I am 61. Cancer has aged me so much. I will look at the bright side, I am in remission!

Anyone deal with lymphedema after colon cancer??

I AM MISERABLE!!!! Swelling in my feet started about a month ago. Had ultrasound last week and everything looked fine. Tomorrow I go to a physical therapist to be checked for lymphedema. After reading some things online I feel positive this is what I have. Tonight my feet started to itch sooooo bad....

Re: I got a second opinion-need advice

Glad to hear you have a good second opinion. My Onc put me on Cetuximab/Erbitux from 2/23-3/29. I couldn't tolerate the rash and told him I refuse to have it anymore, bad enough having cancer and then having a treatment that gave me no quality of life, didn't see my grandkids for a month and the ab...

Re: CEA dropped 82 percent after 2 vectibix infusions...

I've had one vectibix infusion. It was given to me in hopes the rash wouldn't be as bad as the Erbitux. It was the same...awful rash on my face, chest and back. I'm coming off of it now because my onc said I no longer need it. My last CEA level was 0.4. I have no idea what my CEA was when I started ...

Re: I got a second opinion-need advice

Thanks everyone for your guidance on this! It's a tough situation to be in but you guys are right, I have to do what's best for me. My oncologist has always been wonderful so I am probably worrying for no reason. The onc at MD Anderson is sending his findings and suggestions to my onc here. People g...
