Thyroid Problems Post Radition for Rectal Cancer

Hi all, Picking the brains of experience here. Has anyone developed thryroid problems/cancer as a result of radiation treatment? I have had classic thryroid symptoms and though blood tests game back normal, except for white being high and lymph being high bloods for TSH were "normal." Thry...

Re: thinking of you, BELLE

Belle, I've been away and returned to see this. I am truly heartbroken. As we began this journey together I have always felt a connection, even though cyber, with you. You have become a force on this board from your generosity and journey. You have impacted many lives reflected by this thread alone....

Re: Stopping clinical trial

Wish you nothing but the best dear Belle, and right now it's best that you stop. As soon as you recover and regroup do something you can enjoy for you, then get back to work on the stupid cancer. Sending love and best wishes to you and your family. You continue to be an inspiration to us all.

Re: I cancelled my surgery today...

My gut hasn't failed me, so I applaud your brave decision. As has been said, unless there are other factors, colon cancer is generally slow growing, a month won't be too long. Many surgeries are delayed when the patient has a fever, etc. Put your mind at ease for this and do your due diligence on th...

Re: 4cm polyp! Freaking out

The three-month repeat seems responsible by your doc, but there is always a second opinion if it makes you feel better. I had colonoscopy done locally and it was called "cancer." Went for second opinion it was called "high grade dysplasia" at MSKCC based on read of locally proces...

Re: Diarrhea accident

You're new anatomy is still "new." So sorry this happened to you; it is pretty scary and embarrassing. Many of us have been there. Keep your emergency bag together as suggested, include a change of clothes if you're back at work. By all means talk to your doc, but don't panic until the doc...

Re: Clinical Trial - Round #3

Glad this round is over; and with CEA going down, glad results at least make the big house confinement and resulting ugliness worth it. I'm thanking you also for this, but most of all I love your fight!

Echo sentiments of Laurgb. First thought in my mind. Let's all hope, even pray if you choose, that this is the "magic bullet."

Thank you Belle.

Wedding Anniverdary Takeover

On our 22nd wedding anniversary I was diagnosis with rectal cancer. Every year since has been a countdown away from that day in 2007. Today, for the first time in 7 years, cancer barely crossed my mind; we didn't remind each other about it, and we just talked about the wonderful ride we've been on s...

Good evening. When I had my temp it happened. It's kind of shocking right! Doc said perfectly normal, but as with anything monitor yourself and call your doc if you have concerns.

So sorry. Chris is pain free and at peace. I pray now for your comfort Bill. I can't imagine how much you will miss him, but it sounds like his memory will make you happy just as he did.
