Re: HIPEC - MY BFF W/Appendix Cancer

So many problems lately w/computer/wifi. Maybe that time of year, but really irritating, to say the least. Update on BFF: Surgery was 12/1. 12/6 (5 days post surgery) Epidural was removed, IV tubes, Dilaudid d/c'd. Pain managed orally, discharged 12/9, by 12/10 off pain meds completely (her choice)....

Re: O/T diversion ... The Voice Spring and FALL 2017 !

Spot on CRguy w/the Holland link! WOW Watched the first 2 of the The Voice this season, taped the rest on DVR. Now so far behind. My hairdresser told me the other day I missed the best season. Dang, had so much else going on. Did you ever warm up to Jennifer Hudson as a judge? Honestly, the shoe thr...

Re: Feeling hopeless. Para aortic nodes-inoperable?

A big blow for you, but the fact that you have the opportunity for 2nd opinion @ Sloan is good. Hold onto hope even if not a surgical candidate now. Some good input here from folks. Also like Veckon's point.

Keep us in the loop.

Re: Question on pains few weeks after end of Folfox

Hi Brenda, You must have had a rough Thanksgiving...the not knowing, the hurry up & wait that seems unending w/a cancer dx, the pain/discomfort. From AJQ's most recent post/signature, it appears a low PCI re: peri mets. My BFF had rt-sided pain & discomfort...occasionally enough to take her ...

Re: Anyone with persistent Abscess and strong cramping STG IV

What is interesting is seeing the recommendations and thoughts that the doctors have regarding HIPEC. Number of procedures and experience appear to be the largest factors and determinism in effectiveness of the procedure. Dr. Winer performed 344 last year and has averaged 31 since he began. Emory's...

Re: O/T The 4 Kinds Of Health Chatroom Users (Article)

I didn't see anything negative in the article; just surprised we are a phenomena worthy of a study! Agree UCSD would have more important subject matter to study in my mind. I've been on a few forums since Bff dx of appendix cancer & her DH w/prostate cancer. As far as forums, we've got it made i...

Re: Peri mets, Stage IV --- Need advice

Glad you didn't have complications as the complication rate can be high from HIPEC. Any problems w/reintroducing foods to your diet? Any recommendations? Getting in & out of bed ok? Since BFF not local, they have requested she stay in the area an extra week after release from the hospital just i...

O/T The 4 Kinds Of Health Chatroom Users (Article)

Really? OK...Why Not! We're being studied folks. Trying to put us in a slot. Obviously this is just one take on the character of health chatroom visitors and users, and another study might see things differently. OK, so WHO on here participated in this survey, as I don't see a category for the clini...

Re: Anyone with persistent Abscess and strong cramping STG IV

Have you considered sending her records for 2nd opinion @ a major cancer center such as MD Andersen, Houston or MSKCC, NY if your insurance allows travel, that is. Might be worth the trouble considering all the trouble you currently are having. Of course you've got to get these abscess fires or what...

Re: The Grim Reaper took another swipe at me !!

Hello Diane, This is Thanksgiving week here, national holiday on Thursday. One of the busiest travel times of the year. The "year of firsts" is very true, i.e. first Christmas, anniversary, birthday, etc w/o your partner. Car trouble...well, you can count on that to happen + maintaining a ...
