Re: Peripheral Neuropathy and Compression Socks

Walking on the beach sounds like fun. And I'm on vacation in Fort Lauderdale now. So I have a great beach to use. :-)

Re: Peripheral Neuropathy and Compression Socks

Thank you the advice prayingforccr. I am not sure where I will find a hyperbaric oxygen tank, but I would try one if I found one.

Peripheral Neuropathy and Compression Socks

Hello. I had 6 months of folfox chemotherapy in 2014. Now in 2023 I am still dealing with peripheral neuropathy from that chemotherapy. I am not diabetic. I used gabapentin in the past without much success. I have pregabalin, it helps some I think, but I still experience the neuropathy. I have the n...

Re: Natera Empower Hereditary Cancer Test

Hi Rock Robster. Thank you for sharing your experience. Yes, it sounds like there are limitations on these types of genetic tests. So I will have to weigh the cost of the test against the useful information that I might gain from the test.

Re: Natera Empower Hereditary Cancer Test

Hi JJH. Thank you for all of the useful information. I have been making calls to the prescribing doctor's office, to my insurance company, and to in-network labs today. Natera claims that the cost of the test is capped at $250, but I would prefer to go through an in-network lab because my insurance ...

Natera Empower Hereditary Cancer Test

Hi. I recently had a surveillance follow up colonoscopy, after having colon cancer in 2014. The gastroenterologist recommended the Natera Empower Hereditary Cancer Test. https://www.natera.com/oncology/empower-hereditary-cancer-test/ As I understand, this test does not involve the original tumor cel...

Re: (Somewhat Delayed) Five Year Anniversary

Hey all. So I met with my oncologist on Friday, 7/31/20. My colon resection surgery took place in the fall of 2014 and I finished 6 months of folfox in the spring of 2015. I had the stable ct scan in July of 2020. I was a little surprised that my oncologist told me that I still had a chance of colon...

(Somewhat Delayed) Five Year Anniversary

Hi. I was diagnosed with stage 3b colon cancer in the fall of 2014. I had colon resection surgery and finished folfox chemotherapy in the spring of 2015. I have had three colonoscopies and at least annual ct scans since then. As I was approaching my five year anniversary, ct scans revealed a cyst on...

Re: Liver Lesion Identified, Four Years After Original Diagnosis

Hi. I just wanted to follow up after my appointment with the oncologist. He wants another CT scan in three months, to see if the lesion has changed in any way. I asked him about an MRI of the liver, he said that the lesion is not big enough (2-3 mm) for an MRI to be warranted. He also said the CT sc...

Re: Liver Lesion Identified, Four Years After Original Diagnosis

Hi. Yes, all of the kidney results are referring to the same mass. I will ask my oncologist about whether an mri of the liver is appropriate. Thank you for the suggestion.

Liver Lesion Identified, Four Years After Original Diagnosis

Hi. I had a CT scan yesterday (10/24/18). I was diagnosed with colon cancer in 8/14. The CT impression from 10/24/18- tiny 2-3 mm hypodense lesion in the right lobe of the liver which is too small to characterize; however, it is new when compared to the prior study (10/17). No other intrahepatic les...
