Re: So angry! Do I have any rights here?

Hi Michael, I hear what you're saying, but I don't think these doctors are in the know. They admitted they hadn't read up on vitamin c and weren't willing to read up on it. When they eventually did ask the pharmacists if they had it and the pharmacist told her what a "wonderful drug" it wa...

So angry! Do I have any rights here?

Hi friends, coming at you live from critical care unit. I took my mom to have her first infusion of VitC and her doctors couldn't get a catheter in so they sent us to the ER so she can get some hydration since she was dehydrated. Long story short they found another pleural effusion and probably pneu...

Re: Folfiri with Avastin questions

When my mom was on irinotecan her hair started falling out in chucks so she decided to just shave it off, and we found her a wig that she loved! It worked out a bit better because it was in the winter and not sizzling hot (at least where we live in CA it gets super hot). She had so many people givin...

Re: Radiation results

My mom had radiation done on her liver, but from what I understood, the radiation keeps working even after they stop actively giving you radiation. Which is why they didn't schedule her for a CT until almost two months after her radiation finished. I know it's not the same situation but I hope this ...

Re: 83 year old diabetic great grandma

Hi DP, I'm glad you're doing your research, it will definitely be a great help to your family. If your grandma decides to pursue treatment, you will have the tools to help her. If she decides not to pursue treatment and decides instead to enjoy the time she has, you will also have the tools to help ...

IV Vitamin C, hoping this is the miracle we need

Thanks to all my friends on the board here, I finally found out about and looked up IV Vit C. I found a naturopathic doctor will be treating my mom. It is definitely not cheap, the starting dose of 15mg goes for $130 and the top dose of 50mg goes for $200. Plus the doctor is a little over an hour aw...

Re: 83 year old diabetic great grandma

HI dp, I'm so sorry about your grandma butt I'm glad you found this board. If your grandma is well enough to understand (with a translator) and is able to make her own decisions, I don't think the doctor is allowed to not tell her about her diagnosis. I think the only time when it would be okay for ...

Re: Worsening kidney function - is it supplements or chemo?

Hi Ron, I am glad you have found a doc that works great for you! I definitely see what you mean with progress being slow but decline happening very fast and it's not easy to watch and I can't imagine how it is to experience it. She had labs done Friday but no results yet. Depending on how those look...

Re: HAI at UCSF?

Hi Sha, From what I read on the forum through my search I was under the impression that they no longer did the HAI as well. But the nurse called and said that they do have a few patients on the pump. I asked if it was the one that's surgically inserted and is permanent and he said yes, so we'll see....

HAI at UCSF?

Hello again friends, In my search to find some treatment options for my mom, I found a link for HAI at UCSF. I called to check if they do indeed offer this treatment, and although it took them a couple of weeks to get back to me, they just called me and told me that yes they do perform HAI there. I ...
