Pneumonia

Hi All, I've been lying low.....just over 3 weeks with pneumonia .....no cough or cold, just had pains in my ribs and a raised temperature. I was in and out of a hospital for the first week....they put me on oral antibiotics and it didn't work. Eventually I got put on intravenous drugs and now I'm g...

Re: Appetite loss

Hate to say it.....but everyone is different. Chemo is well known for a patients appetite being a roller coaster. I went through a bad patch back in September/October. I lost weight but have put most of it back on. Please bear in mind that typically your body will need less calories than usual due t...

Re: Irinotecan and cea

Hi,
May not be of much help.....but for what its worth...my Onc dropped Irinotecan in October due to neuropathy..mostly in my feet.
I'm on aflibercept and I'm not sure if this is something you can try or ask for? Its a tough therapy but is keeping me going.
Good luck

Re: Night sweats

Hi, I experienced bad night sweats for three to four cycles of Folfiri with Aflibercept back three to four months ago. My Onc seemed to think it was just a bad side effect.......I could go hot to cold in a matter of minutes, but more noticeable at night. He reduced the dose of irintocean that I was ...

Re: Ideas for side effects with FOLFIRI+Avastin

Sounds like chemo brain.....I'm not joking...it's very common. You can see my posts and chemo history...I am now going into my 16th month of constant chemo, I have a lot of hands on experience with both avastin and now Zaltrap.....I actually think Zaltrap is slightly easier on the mind and body. Don...

Re: Xeloda and travel

Should be OK, you may want to lower your dose for the time you are away. I have had no problems when on Xeloda whilst travelling.
Hope this helps

Hi to all stage 4 patients, Just wanted to wish all the best to those celebrating Thanksgiving Holiday! I managed to spend a lot of time in the US over the years, mostly on business, I always enjoyed my trips and have many fond memories and lots of smiles. I suppose I'm feeling a little in limbo the...

Re: Folfiri pump advice needed

If possible I would push hard for the port a cath.......I'm on my second one and it does make chemo a lot easier...at least for me.......and it saves your veins.....

Good luck
Nick
