Re: Ct scan vs colonoscopy

Thank you all for your ingsights and got me thinking. The first resistance I got for ct scan is radiation to my reproductive parts since we want to have more children. I’m 35 and would like one more, but at the same time, if I do have something going on I have two little ones that need me. So I don’...

Ct scan vs colonoscopy

I’ve been feeling a pulling sensation in my left side of my abdomen when I lie down on my right side. It is not painful just very uncomfortable. The doctor wants to do a ct scan (mom died of colon cancer) but I’m unease about radiation and that the ct Scan would missed some tiny polyps (?). Should I...

My sweet mom is my angel now.

On May 10th at 2:15 am my mom released her sick body and became cancer free. I know Her spirit in a far better place now. She fought with hope and courage. On March when she was given only a few days and maybe 3 weeks to live she continued to challenge the odds of her disease for several weeks. She ...

Re: Beginning the end of my journey

Cristald you are in my thoughts constantly since I read your post. I haven't had the chance to write but you are right there is not much sharing on hospice here. We have been in hospice with my mom for over a month now and they have been good at making my mom comfortable. Sadly my mom's cancer has s...

Re: Approaching the End...

It has been over a month since my mom left the hospital with only " days or few weeks left" to live. It certainly has not been easy but we have been blessed with her presence still here with us. I was reading the other day in this forum how little we all know about those last weeks of life...

Re: Terrible scan results

You must feel terrible. I remember all those panic attacks that I used to get when my mom's scan would say something similar, just as devastated : cancer had spread.. To her brain and they would do open brain surgery the next day. I could not sleep for days and my mom got a severe panic attack that ...

Re: Update on Mom, prayers needed...

Josh, We are walking right behind you, my mother is experiencing the same symptoms as your mom did during her final weeks. Know that your words are constantly with me: about holding hands and reading the bible together. Your mom is now cancer free and holding God's hands. Praying for you and your en...

Re: Not looking good for me

Dear Delinda2, I'm sorry for what you are going through. I also believe that many oncologist, especially general oncologists, follow a protocol and they have many programmed answers. We weren't always told everything so I tried to get the report before the consultation with and then have all my ques...

Re: Approaching the End...

I'm glad we had the weekend to discussed as a family wether to continue with WBR. In trying to keep her involve, her only response was: "please, don't ask me all these questions" I gues with the brain mets we cannot expect much involvement in deciding her treatment plans. We decided to con...

Just to vent!!

My mom is getting ready to go to hospice after radiation to her brain. These weeks have been the most difficult of our cancer journey and all what my husband family thinks is going Disneyworld. Yes, because of some of my husbands perk is free entrance to the park, we have had people coming from all ...

Re: Approaching the End...

Thank you for the good tips about hospice on medications, cathetization, etc. We decided to do WBR because her dizziness and nausea were unbearable. After the 4th treatment now, she feels better regarding her dizziness. But her nausea is still there because of the radiation. I hope it gets better th...

Re: Approaching the End...

Thank you all for your kind responses, your words of encouragement and the empathy you show me. My mom is having a hard time with her oncologist not wanting to treat her and she fears the cancer will take over her entire body. She just shared that with me tonight after a long day of much reflexion. ...
