Re: Interpretation Question

I want to add that over 90% of us are MSS. MSI are the lucky few, but also more likely to have lynch, as I understand, so there are pros and cons. Although Immunotherapy doesn't work as well for those who are MSS, since we are the vast majority, they are working very hard to figure out how to make i...

Re: Gabapentin for butt burn, thinking its nerve pain

I have the same pain. It is currently my biggest complaint about chemo. Every BM is so painful. When it is at all convenient, I often go straight to a sitz bath for relief. I use calmoseptine, tucks, prep H, etc. It doesn't seem like nueropathy, because I am swollen (like hemorrhoids) and raw with o...

Re: How fast do cancer mets grow?

I am sorry about all the hoops you have to jump through to make this happen. Where in the USA are you having it done? Do you know who the surgeon is?

Re: How fast do cancer mets grow?

Hi! I have been wondering about you. Do you have surgery scheduled? When was his last scan? Does he have any pain or other symptoms from the mets? I understand why you would be concerned, but if surgery is scheduled, I wouldn't worry too much. Hopefully the surgeons know what they are doing with sch...

Re: Hello everyone, new guy on the block

Hi Andy, Nice to meet you. I'm sorry you had a recurrence, but it sounds like you have a good plan it front of you. I love your positive attitude! I'm scheduled for HIPEC in October, provided my pt/ct can next week doesn't show any big surprises. I'm currently back on Folfox (I had previously done a...

HIPEC, HAI and a Lung Nodule???

I have some questions about my recent HIPEC consult that I thought I would throw out here on the board to see if anyone has any insight... My last ct scan 6 weeks ago showed 3 peri mets and a 1 cm suspicious spot on my lower right lung. I have currently restarted FOLFOX and with Avastin and have don...

Re: HIPEC Second Opinions - OHIP

How are you doing? Any word from Calgary?

I have an appt with a HIPEC surgeon on Thursday. I'm hoping I am a candidate. I'm back on FOLFOX and Avastin. Part of eligibility is proving the chemo at least keeps me stable. The waiting is so hard, as I'm sure you know.

Re: Cimetidine Tablets - really neccessary?

Walmart sells cimetidine for $5 a bottle. 60-200mg tablets. Equate brand what is the a problem taking cimeditine while on avastin? How about taking curcumim doing chemo? At my request, my onc just gave me a prescription for metformin. There seems to be a fair amount of evidence that is works with st...

Thank you so much for sharing. I really, really needed that right now. I'm off this morning to get a new port after a recurrence with peri mets. I start chemo again on Monday and hoping that HIPEC is in my near future.

Re: Ned from Hipec ends here

Steph, I've had to wait about 2 weeks to get my new port and get chemo started again. I know how frustrating it is. I'm hoping that once I start chemo on Monday, I will get out of my funk and settle into the new routine. I also have pain from the peri mets that I hope will start feeling better with ...

I don't know what to say, just that I am so, so sorry. There are new treatments coming up all the time. Praying that we all can stay strong until that cure is found. Don't give up.

Re: New Member HIPEC questions ?

Hi, Last week, I found out my cancer has spread to the abdomen. I have 3 "index" tumors between 1.5 and 3 cm in diameter, but it sounds like I have other scattered smaller peri mets as well. I start FOLFOX and Avastin next week and I hope I will be able to have HIPEC soon. I have talked to...

Re: Its back for the 3rd time :(

Tigerpaw, thank you so much for sharing your story. It gives me hope. My mind is going in so many places. I want this three day weekend over so I can get a plan in order. Was RFA discussed as an option for your lung met? Was there a reason they did the HIPEC first? Are you on chemo now? I am so happ...
