Re: O/T … non CRC ER visit… again ! UPDATED

Oh boy -Recently I was walking my dogs and tripped over a rock and took a header on a hard packed dirt road. I never let my dogs lick me on the face but it was like She's Down! Get her! I hobbled the last half mile left to get home. A few hours later I decided to get my throbbing wrist X-rayed and e...

Re: PET Scan

I had a CT scan first and a spot on my liver was diagnosed as a hemangioma. I requested a PET to verify as treatment would be different for Stage 2a vs Stage 4 if it turned out that way. Fortunately it was just a hemangioma.

Re: My favorite time of year

My hubby's company just switched TO United Healthcare. We wont pay anymore per month for the policy but pay a lot more out of pocket and higher deductible. Ugh. It is a PPO but I have to find out if my docs are all in network. Poor Santa will get quite svelte as fewer people can afford to be as gene...

Re: Hernia Repair Surgery - I want the Good, the Bad and the Ugly please

I have to say that between the colon resection and hernia repair - the hernia repair was by far the hardest. I was back to normal very quickly after the resection. Not so much with the hernia repair. I was in the hospital for 5 days (hernia) vs 3 (resection). Pain was considerably more for the herni...

This is both wonderful news and at the same time, a little heartbreaking. Voxx was waiting for this to get approved. Damn.

Re: Survey, well kinda, we're you a health nut or not b4 dx?

Non-smoker, no alcohol or soda, diet fairly decent with lots of home grown fruits, nuts and vegetables, a lot of physical activity, and was very rarely sick. My only risk factors were I had a lot of beef in my diet and not at optimal weight.

Re: New here, pathology results today how tell kid (10)?

OneFoot: First I'm sorry that you are in the position of even have to think of telling your child you have cancer. My son was 23 when I had to tell him - and even then that was tough. i can tell you that when I had to tell him hard things when he was younger - it was best to have a frank discussion....

Re: Extreme fatigue

I was on Xelioda only. I never got fatigued per se but toward the end of a two week cycle, I'd have to go to bed an hour earlier than I normally would. Brown Bagger gave the best advise - keep hydrated! I drank water, water, water and then some more! I also tried to keep active - there were a few to...

Re: I am SO angry with this religious debate!

Boy do I miss Voxx when topics like this come up. He was always the voice of reason. I am a person of deep faith, but as soon as I saw the original thread of Divine Healing - I skipped it completely because I knew what it would turn into. Faith or non-belief is a personal issue. To demean someone el...

Re: PET result

I just asked my Onc about this as I recently passed the one year mark. He said scans every six months until two years then once a year. I neglected to ask if stage at fx dictates the frequency of scans - but seems likely.

Congrats on your two years NED!
