Re: After 44 rounds folfox isn't working anymore......

Amazing. 44 rounds has to be some kind of record. Why did you have to stop if you are tolerating it so well?

Re: Oxal Flashbacks?

Well, you're not alone! I get the occassional "charge" through my system. I treat it as a nice little reminder that it's trying to come back, but has NO CHANCE! I loved the shirt Shawn Felty was wearing this weekend at the Big Dam Walk. It read: I'm Making Cancer my Bitch... :D -David

Re: Side effects after lymph nodes removed?

The way I understand it is that lymphedema is more of a concern with breast cancer than with colon cancer due to the limited number of lymph nodes in the area. In fact, my surgeon told me that the more nodes they take the better, (20 or more). This gives more assurance that the paths are eliminated ...

Hi Mark!

You'll be in my thoughts tomorrow. I won't lie, it will be difficult. Try to get as much rest as you possibly can. It was tough for me to sit back and let others help, but it is absolutely necessary!!!!!!!!

You have an open invitation to call me anytime.

All good suggestions. I had to have my laptop computer. Also, I brought my Sirius Satellite Radio (You have to have a room with a south window). I used it at night mostly to play very peaceful music. The nurses used to love my room at night b/c of the soft music playing and the smell of fresh flower...

Here's a cute story: My son is now five years old, and just like most fathers and sons, we like to rough house, and wrestle in the livingroom. Well, during my treatments, I didn't have the energy, and he was afraid to hurt me. Probably b/c I spent so much time in and out of the hospital. Anyway, aft...

Hi! I wouldn't wait until March. I'd press the doctor to push the date up. The sooner the better, in my mind. The odds are in your favor that it is probably not cancer. But, as you can see here, there are plenty of stories that would prove otherwise. The blood I experienced was not bright red, but d...

It depends on the location of the tumor. The way I understand this is the reason radiation is used first is to shrink the tumor to avoid a permanent or temporary ostomy. My tumor was "around the bend" and I was fortunate enough not to have an ostomy at all. A friend of mine had radiation first, but ...

Hi! I was diagnosed in February of '07, I had surgery, then 28 radiation treatments, then 16 FLOX treatments, (FOLFOX w/out the fanny pack). The one thing that I wish I had known was how painful the surgery was, it is off the charts! Obviously, I haven't dealt with child birth, but I was in the hosp...

Your Story is Needed!!!!

Hi All! My wife, a friend of ours, and I have started a non-profit foundation. You can check us out at http://www.davidsfight.org. Our goal is much like Molly's, to build awareness on CRC. I have so much appreciated The Colon Club, and talk about it as much as possible to those I meet with CRC. Trul...
