Re: Colonoscopy coming up....gastroenterologist or surgeon?

I had my Surgeon do the first couple of colonoscopies, but he then wanted to wait 3 years for the next. I wasn't comfortable with that so went to a new GI, who found a massive polyp in my cecum, less than 2 years after my most recent colonoscopy. Don't know if the surgeon had missed it, but I appare...

Re: Terrified - 3cm polyp

I had a 3.5 cm polyp on the ileocecal valve which was removed by EMR, and was benign. Unfortunately, there were a few cells left, which continue to grow back, so I had 2 more follow up proceedures, and will have another in July. If there is more growth I could still end up needing surgery, but hopef...

Re: Surgery for precancerous sessile growth

I had a 3.5 cm polyp removed by EMR, located near the ileocecal valve. At the 3 mo follow-up colonoscopy, there were still some cells. I have to go back in January for another colonoscopy. I agree that surgery is better than cancer, but of course would like to avoid it. I can't give you advice, but ...

Re: awaiting biopsy results

Finally got my results, and the polyp was benign. It was a tubular adenoma, and I need to have another colonoscopy in 3 mo. to check that it was totally removed. I'm not complaining (too much). I dodged a bullet this time, and I'm grateful.

awaiting biopsy results

I had my 35mm sessile polyp removed in 5 pieces by emr colonoscopy on 10/9 and haven't been too anxious about the biopsy since when it was tested upon discovery in June, results were negative. I also figure that if it is malignant, they would let me know right away. I just looked online, and it says...

Re: EMR One-year check up

Good luck with your upcoming procedures. Hope they don't find anything.
I'm having a large polyp removed in a few weeks and of course your case caught my interest, since I don't know anyone else who has had this. Let us know how it goes.
I'd send a hug, but don't know how.
