Re: GI appointment

I'm sorry it didn't help you. Most people don't see a change for a month or so, it can take awhile to get the gluten out of your system. I hope you find a solution soon. ♡

Re: GI appointment

DE, I haven't been on here in awhile so I'm not up to date, but you mentioned LAR syndrome and that caught my attention. I thought I had LAR syndrome and tried everything besides pain pills which was the main solution all the doctors suggested. I was told my pain was because of radiation damage and ...

Re: OT- Should I try going gluten free?

You should try it and see if it helps. I had my reversal last March and was in pain most of the time. I told every doctor I saw and their only solution was pain pills....no, thank you. I was in agony every morning for about 3 - 4 hours after multiple bms and I was considering going back to the bag. ...

Re: Local Excision Pain and Recovery Time

I had an excision before my lar. My surgeon said it was just a little worse than a colonoscopy....not! It took about 4 weeks to be able to sit on the floor without pain. I didn't have constipation issues, but I just wanted to let you know that it does get better.

Re: LAR or Not

I had a flat polyp that everyone thought was stage 1. I had a tae and was told to follow up with the oncologist. After a ct and pet scan showed 2 lymph nodes that slightly concerned my oncologist, I was sent back to my surgeon. The surgeon and oncologist thought that a lar was over treating but they...

Re: Reversal Log: Experience,Problems, Q & A's

Wallyjr, hopefully you will have a better outcome because you didn't have radiation. I am 10 months out and still having difficulty. I have very little rectum left, but my doctor said my problems are a result of radiation damage. I have major narrowing and have been dilated three times. I'm still ad...

Re: Hot flashes after chemo

Yes! They were horrible. Fortunately, I had treatment during the winter so I just threw off the off the blankets until my blood stopped boiling. My sister bought me a little hand held fan as a joke, but I used it all the time at work. Sorry, I don't have any tips for easing the flashes....they sucke...

Re: How to stop hating chemo day???

Hang in there and try not to dwell on it. I always brought my kindle and ear buds. I cranked up some alternative rock and took a nap. I couldn't stand the constant beeping of the iv' s, it seriously made me nauseous.

Re: A friend pushing 'Snake oil cures"

I am 4 months out from reversal. I am having better days, but I can honestly say that this has been the worst part by far. When I have a particularly bad day my mom asks what I ate. I know she means well but after 4 months of this I really have to bite my tongue. Sometimes I just have bad days....I ...
