I was lucky that my hair lose was mostly on the top. my neckline had more hair so I let it gro...

Re: Cancer and Faith?

I have told people many times that having cancer taught my more than it ever took away. And I hope I'm a better person for it. I wouldn't wish it on anyone but I learned to be kinder. I learned to be patient. I learned to appreciate the small things and the big things. I really like me now. You know...

Re: 5 years ago ... The dreaded diagnosis

Well, this is interesting. 14 years ago today I was told the same thing. Dreaded cancer strikes again. I too have been NED since then. Believe it or not I almost forgot my cancerversary. There was a day when I thought of nothing else.

Re: Side effects calf cramping and painfully tight

It's been since '02 started chemo, finished in summer of '03. I had leg cramps then and occasionally now. Then and now I drink V8 juice and problem solved. I think I got that info from this forum back in the day. Now I drink it only a few times a week, to keep the cramps at bay.

Re: Anybody completely cured for many years?

As for your question. I am as of Oct this year a 14 year survivor. I find my history interesting to this question. My father was DX'd and then lived for 5 years. My brother was DX'd and lived only 3 years. I did not expect to live for more than 5 years because of the history....BUT...here I am after...

Re: Dogs/chemo? Accident prone during chemo?

I haven't had chemo since 2003. I'm now 71 and I kid around whenever I forget things that "it's CHEMO brain." I always thought it was still the chemo that we never really flush out of our system. I find also that my sin is still very sensitive to the sun and I bruise so easily now. Even mo...

Re: Post-ileostomy reversal

Well, I'm even years out. It has not always been a walk in the park , but it sure bought me more time than I ever thought I would have. My dad and my brother only lived for 5 years and 3 years and here I am going on my 11th year. Like your husband I had a hard time making it to the bathroom in time ...
