Re: My Dear Husband Danny Has Left Us

I am sorry to read this news. Your posts about dealing with this ugly disease with Danny were very poignant and touching. It gave me comfort during periods of frustration while providing care for my mother. My condolences to you and your family.

Re: Ashlee update

I am saddened to read this news. I have only been on this forum a few months, but in that time, I read many of Ashlee's posts and appreciated her insight and wisdom to those fighting this painful battle. She made this forum very welcoming to newbies. I also enjoyed seeing her avatar...

Re: STIVARGA (Regorafenib) - ONGOING PATIENT EXPERIENCES

Thanks Sharona and Vicki for sharing your experiences. I cannot imagine taking 4 pills of Stivarga a day. 3 pills is brutal as is. An update on my mom. She is currently on week two of her third cycle. Recap of her first two cycles was that she bonked hard the last few days of each and had be admitte...

Re: Sorry, But Need to Vent About Insensitive Family

Val, I read your initial post and realized that your situation of cachexia-anorexia is different then my mother's and some of the others who posted on this thread. I had never heard of cachexia-anorexia and googled a few sites on it. Another cruel and vicious item in cancer's big bag of them. My tho...

Re: Sorry, But Need to Vent About Insensitive Family

It's threads like this that illuminate how difficult this battle is. My mom is also a reluctant eater and my father battles daily with her reluctance. I hear about it, and think that this should be a simple cut and dried argument. She needs to eat dammit! End of story! It's when I witness her refusa...

Re: STIVARGA (Regorafenib) - ONGOING PATIENT EXPERIENCES

My thoughts go out to the others taking this drug. Thank you for sharing your experiences. It's a tough one! My mom finished her second cycle on 3 pills for 21 days last Friday. There were some similarities with the first cycle. The first two weeks aren't bad relatively speaking. She experienced hea...

Re: Great New Cancer Immunotherapy Video

Thank you for posting that video. They assembled a great panel and discussed a lot of interesting aspects about immunotherapy and the issues going forward. I only wish that progress on the CRC speeds up and the immunotherapy's pie slice on the cancer expenditure chart get much bigger...

Re: Immunogenic mutations in tumor genomes correlate with in

I am not as optimistic as Maia is, dear Misha... I think, 5 year minimum for CRC... Maia thinks much faster, like couple years... Let's just pray our smart and wonderful expert on immunology (oh, common Maia, do not be modest again!) is right, as usual... There is a good immunotherapy trial right n...

Re: Immunogenic mutations in tumor genomes correlate with in

Thanks for posting this. It's a nice and tidy summation of what is involved in immunology. Next question is what is the time frame for this personalized immunology to become mainstream reality...

Re: Personalised Treatment

My pleasure! Fixed a couple of links, added other trial. Good luck! My parents were at MDA earlier this week and they mentioned Dr. Allison's immunotherapy work and immunotherapy clinical trials to my mom's onc. The onc said that he is good buddies with Dr. Allison and mentioned this clinical trial...

Re: STIVARGA (Regorafenib) - ONGOING PATIENT EXPERIENCES

My mom got back from MDA yesterday and the Stivarga appears to be working. At the time of her scans she was midway through her second cycle. Her liver mets shrunk and her big large multilobulated growth in the lower abdomen is stable. I wish this big tumor would shrink because it is causing her grea...
