Congratulations! That is a wonderful milestone.
I understand how you feel about it being like letting go of a safety net.

To your health!

Re: Will it ever be normal again?

Cancerfighterswife, I am having similar issues (clustering, pain, having to "push" to eliminate) so I thought I'd post so I can keep up with any comments, and maybe offer some ideas. EDIT: I realize now this doesn't really relate to the original poster's issue, but I'm going to leave it he...

Re: gas+++

I don't think I have any suggestions to offer -- I came here because I am having the same issue since ileo reversal. I find it very embarrassing and sometimes physically uncomfortable at work (in a quiet office, meetings, etc.) and, to a lesser extent, with friends. I don't remember ever having this...

Re: Bone Island on a bone

I have had something noted as consistent with a bone island on all of my scans. The fact that your report said that is was "stable compared to previous scan" is a good sign. It's probably been there all along but just hadn't been mentioned in the previous reports. But discussing with your ...

Re: Marco has passed

Very sad to see the news, and also touched to see how big of an impact Marco had here. I have been thinking of Marco the past few days and, on some level, may have been avoiding logging into the forum because I didn't want to see the inevitable news. My sincere condolences go out to Marco's family, ...

Good luck on Monday -- hoping it turns out to be nothing too concerning, and glad you are getting it promptly checked out.

Re: My last post

Hi Marco -

I hope you are not in pain. I'm so touched you got my postcard, I wasn't sure you would be alert to see it. I'm not sure I mentioned it on my postcard, but I hope to travel to Italy for the first time next Spring. I will think of you.

Hugs,
L.

Re: First onco appt in a week

That's a good point to get an accurate weigh-in each time -- have her remove her shoes as well. I saw a nutritionist (specializing in cancer patients and affiliated with my treatment center) before I started chemo. She recommended getting plenty of protein and suggested a high-quality whey protein s...

Re: Toilet fatigue

I hear ya! I am happy to no longer have "the bag" (the temp. ileostomy was causing me a lot of ongoing skin issues despite trying all sorts of wafers and seals). But now I find myself sitting on the toilet so long that my hips and rear end hurt, and my feet go to sleep! :? I think I am act...
