My DH is gone

We went into the hospital on Monday Feb 23rd and never got to come home again. My DH was yellow with jaundice, becoming more confused and his stomach appeared swollen. We went in to the ER where he had 2 liters of fluid drained from his abdomen but it returned quickly. He became more and more confus...

cytoxin

Hello Happy New Year to all. I would like to thank everyone on this board for your support and sharing your stories. They help so much. I have a question about Cytoxin. My DH started it about 2 weeks ago now, as an interim chemo until he can hopefully start a trial/study at Mayo Clinic for TAS102. H...

Re: 2014 member update -- for all of us--please post!

Hello and Merry Christmas and I hope you all have a great new year. My DH is not doing too well. The last chemo he tried, Xeloda, did not work, liver mets still growing and they stopped it mid December. He is now waiting for a trial to start of TAS102 late January. In the mean time they decided to g...

Re: My sweet honey, back in Chemo !!

My DH wears light gloves and slippers all the time, stays off his feet as much as possible and we use the Aquafor on his feet and any other areas that are sore every night. I hope that helps in some way. Sending good thoughts your way. Good luck to you.

Re: December scan buddies

My DH had a CT scan Dec 11th. He had his 3rd round of Xeloda and was to start 4th Friday. The scan showed significant growth again in his liver, the lungs actually some decrease in some of the nodules. Regardless of the decrease oncologist says no more chemo. He did mention a couple of older chemos ...

Re: CEA jump, not sure what it means but scaring us.

Hello I'm just putting an update out there on my DH. He has been on Xeloda along with Oxaliplatin, attempted the third cycle Friday but after the infusion portion couldn't get the nausea, vomiting under control - had to stay overnight and receive IV fluids. His Platelets have dropped to 63, Bilirubi...

Re: Advice needed re chemo

I agree with most here - do the chemo as it's your best chance. I can tell you that when my DH has been off chemo because of side affects the cancer took off again.
