Is anyone taking this medication at all ?

Was wondering are ateroids given for cancer or cancer treatment . My dad in hosp with no wel infection which bit better now but he just can't seem to eat and has lost so much weight. . My dad is in hosp with enteritis ( it's a kind of bowel inflammation ) with antibiotics . He has sickness and can't eat . It horrible .

Anyway his bilirubin is fluctuating as

12,19,12,30 . Uk based so up
To 20' is normal.

My dad spiked a fever and is hospital as first time his white blood count is low . They have done a few tests like stool, urine and no infection detected .

Can someone have low WBC with fever and no
Infection ?

Can steroids be given just for appetite or are they needs for something else ?

Can anyone advise on here if anything can be taken to increase appetite at all during chemo please ?
