Re: In for a blockage, at hospital

Thank you. They are saying if no gas passes that we're in trouble and they said it should do so by tomorrow. Did the walking, spent time in the bathroom. Nothing yet. No bowels sounds and then some bowel sounds which is good. Thank you:))

Re: Caregiver question

Thank you so much for sharing, everyone. It makes me feel a bit better knowing that I'm actually normal. There are a lot of ups and downs and you're right I'm thinking is this the one? So I don't know how to better handle it.

Re: Caregiver question

Thank you so much guys. It is really helpful. I think the uncertainty is exhausting, not knowing what is around the corner. Every down cycle you think it is something bigger but really it could just be part of the down cycle. Being able to make it through all the ups and downs. I feel guilty sometim...

Caregiver question

1. I'm finding it lonely. What do you do? Friends don't come around as much, even family. I write emails, send texts, make calls but I'm still lonely day in and day out. 2. I am trying to think of things that people can help with, and things to let people help me with. I have trouble asking for help...

Re: Chemotherapy and food

we did a lot of smoothies with protein powder, yoghurt, ice cream, whatever you can cram the calories into. He did lose a lot of weight so any way you can get the calories in do it. Jello was good, plain broth. No metal spoons, cutlery, no cold water, always room temp. He didn't like touching any me...

Re: How effective is erbitux

Thanks so much for sharing. I really appreciate it. He was on high bp meds and then off them because he didn't have it any more. He felt fine, no symptoms and then out of no where dropped. I was a little alarmed. I really appreciate you sharing your experience. He found this one more tiring than oth...

Re: BEER AND CHEMO

We asked our onc and he said go ahead. So we went and got the best of the best and will drink it sensibly inbetween. Plus, "the patient" is on other serious pain meds as well and the onc said go ahead.

Re: Diarrhea after bowel obstruction

We used a hemmeroid gel, baby wipes unscented, low residue diet. Someone gave us a graded SBO diet to follow and it has worked really well. I highly suggest it!
