Re: BrownBagger ....... I don't know what to say

I am deeply saddened to hear of Eric's passing. He was an awesome role model here.

My condolences to all his loved ones.

Grouseman,

I hope you and your wife are doing well. Please keep us posted when you have the chance. Your silence is worrisome.

Take care,

Re: Ileostomy in overweight patients?

The best tip I have echoes what Lee said. A good Wound/Ostomy care nurse is your best chance of getting the right placement for your ostomy. I would not let the surgeon do it. My WOC nurse spent 30 minutes examining me while sitting, standing, with and without pants on, to determine the best spot fo...

Re: How long until you see light at the end of the tunnel?

Happy birthday Judi! I agree with all of the advice and comments above. I'm also convinced that the chemo drugs screw around with our emotional state, regardless of how we felt prior to treatment. I went into my first Folfiri session full of optimism and "I've got this" attitude, and less ...

Re: Some post APR questions..

Janie, can you explain what you mean by irrigating the wound? About 3 weeks post-surgery, I noticed that the drainage became a bit smelly. At my follow-up appointment with the surgeon, he determined that it wasn't infected yet, but that the wound needed irrigating to be kept clean. So every day, an...

Re: Chills and fever after APR

I have another question: how long is it approx between surgery and adjuvant therapy? I mean standard for stage 3 RC with nodes involved as you can see in my signature. I would appreciate your responses. Regards. I'm not sure about the standard wait time, but for me it was 6 weeks. Also, I was given...

Re: Some post APR questions..

Sorry I missed your post on Thursday and thanks to KElizabeth for bumping it. I experienced everything you're describing post-APR 3.5 years ago. I run the risk of discouraging you, but setbacks with perineal wounds are quite common based on the feedback I got from my surgeon and definitely from pers...

Re: Mom gained her angel wings

I'm so sorry for your loss Natalie. I can't find any words that would be of comfort to you, but please know that you and your family are in my thoughts. You've been a great advocate to your mother.

Take care of yourself, and good luck with your studies.

Re: O/T diversion ... The Voice Spring 2017 !

Yeah, the Gwen/Blake thing was cute for about 0.2 seconds. I've always liked the banter between the judges, but it feels more gimmicky this season. I guess it's hard to stay 'fresh' for so long. I'm reserving judgment on the talent this season as it's still early on, but I don't see a clear frontrun...

Chemo+rad for chest lymph node

Hi all. I'm hoping to hear about your experiences with chemorad to the lung/chest area. I'm scheduled to start 10 chemorad (5fu) sessions on Monday for an enlarged mediastinal lymph node. This lymph node has been enlaraged for a few years now, but controlled while I was on Stivarga. It unfortunately...
