Re: Lung nodule and mesenteric nodes

Hi . The one that was a met in my mum’s lung grew with each scan . Very slowly but it continued to grow . She had two that popped up , stayed the same size for over a year , maybe eighteen months and on the last scan disappeared . They did not continue growing . I think the concern is more when they...

Re: Adhesion surgery for blockages

Hi , So pleased your through that . It sounded very painful . I think my mum has been opened up so much that she has a few adhesions too . Thankfully they seem to resolve . I can just imagine your ward . We used to have a similar system but have just had a beautiful state hospital built with single ...

Hi , Just want to send our support to you and your husband and totally get the whole trying to find a solution in difficult circumstances without it adding more pressure to the situation . The spread may already have been out there but this particular chemo has done nothing to hold it at bay . My mu...

Re: How long to followup Stage 4 ?

Hi , Oh it is a hard decision . My mum was to stop scanning and the last scan showed a lung met!!! So once that was dealt with she went back to every six months . There was talk of pushing that back to a year but they took cold feet and booked a six month scan instead . They feel due to the lack of ...

Hope it turns out to be ok for you . Those lung nodules cause so much anxiety . My mum had a few show up for a couple of scans but have disappeared now .
Take care,

Hi Adam , I am not too far away from you . I am just across the water in Scotland and your not too far away from Christie’s Hospital too . Couple of things you might want to get better informed about . The size and location of your spread in the liver . The liver surgeons are going in much more aggr...

Re: Lung surgery advice

Hi ,
My mum had surgery nearly two years ago . Two small nodules showed up after surgery and then disappeared . Her lung function has not been impacted . She would do it again and she is 75 .
Surgery is better for her than chemo . She has not had chemo since 2010

Re: Solitary Lung Met - Looking for Positive Experiences

Hi , My mum had one removed on her right lung almost two years ago now . She has had two liver resections and found the lung surgery totally manageable . She was home two days later . The surgery was really quick . The nodule was only about 7 mm . They deflated the lung and located it . Reinflated t...

Re: Diagnosed stage 4 cc from CT

Hi , Welcome to the forum . I am sorry about your diagnosis. My mum was diagnosed by a cat scan . The liver tumours were clear even to me. Although they nearly missed the bowel tumour as it had folded over on itself and it was a junior doctor who asked the consultant to go back a little and then the...
