Re: CEA Numbers creeping up

Hi , I think one reading could honestly be a one off given the change in your chemo . I have been watching my mum’s CEA for eight years and it can pop up a bit then go back down . Her highest is always on chemo . Cell death or chemo itself but she always had a great response so we learnt not to let ...

Re: Mother stage IV, terrified

Hi , Sorry to hear about your mum . The Dr has a duty of care to tell your mum what she is up against so she can be prepared in all aspect however No one can say how she will respond to treatment and that becomes the bigger question . They will want her to respond but work in an environment where th...

Re: Rough end to 2017, 2018 ?

Hi , Sorry to hear your news . It’s very frightening to hear it’s spread . My mum is heading round to her ninth year of a stage 4 diagnosis. We consulted with surgeons at every stage to see if it was operable . She had 73% of her liver removed when she was 69 and it’s remained clear ever since . Her...

Re: Should my father do chemo after RFA treatment of single lung met?

Hi , My mum’s was a lot slower than that and a bit smaller . Chemo might be effective as I think it’s to do with the rate of cell division that makes it work well . I could understand why my mum’s oncologist did not think it would achieve much for her . Plus chemo is hard on her . On the plus side m...

Re: Should my father do chemo after RFA treatment of single lung met?

Hi , My mum had surgery for hers . It was slow growing so chemo was not deemed to be a useful tool . To be honest she is 75 and I want her to have the best of days with the good health that she is currently enjoying . So there was no push from our end to change the oncologists mind . She was 73 when...

Re: Any surgeons doing Laser surgery?

Oh thank you Peanut . That is most helpful . It’s for another patient . Mum is doing great if not a little tired as she transforms into Mrs Claus this time of year giving to far and wide . She scanned well and seems to still be keeping well . She could be doing with resting a little but I doubt that...

Great to hear you are having lots of good times enjoying your family together . My mum has taken that approach and we firmly believe today matters as much as tomorrow .
Here’s to many more good days . Sending our love to you and thank you for updating . It means so much to us .

Re: CT Scan Just came in Liver Met (one)

Hi ,
Sorry to hear your news . It takes time to find your feet but you will .
I hope my mum can give you some hope . Her liver has remained clear for the last six years .
She had her chemo and surgery and no long term liver issues .
Hope it gives you a little lift ,
Take care,
