HIPEC recovery and extreme exhaustion

I had my HIPEC surgery done on March 9 . They removed a part and scraped my diaphragm. He said he spent a good deal of time there. Took my gall bladder, some of me bladder, rectum, some liver, resented my original resection, gave me a (temp) ileostomy, cleaned the pelvic a.d abdominal cavity, let no...

Re: Round Three! Liver Lesions found updated after lap

So I had surgery scheduled for Wed. Jon 13. The surgeon said he'd start with Laproscopic exploratory, take a look around and assuming the liver lesions were inaccessible by laproscopic surgery, he'd open me up at that point. It never made it that far. He found numerous, too many to mention, small un...

Re: Round Three! Liver Lesions found -updated

Update: This was completely unexpected My oncologist ordered a Petscan after the MRIs that showed liver involvement. I was concerned because the verbiage in the MRI report was such that it alluded to more than two lesions. But as luck would have it the tumors did not show up on the PETscan. There wa...

Round Three! Liver Lesions found

So here I am, back for round three. It was a wonderful 9 months of nearly blissful normalcy. The nearly refers to watching my CEA creep from 3.0 after chemo to 9.5 now. I knew something was going on, but nothing was showing on a PETscan. Finally had MRIs done, and two liver lesions were found. Im no...

End of Chemo, hopefully done with cancer!

Well..Im happy to say Im done with my second round of Chemo. Folfiri ths time. It was rough. So happy to have it over! My PETScan came back clear and my CEA is only slightly elevated at 3.4. Its been under 5 since after my second surgery. I started Canabis oil about five months ago, who knows if its...

Re: Decreasing CEA for the first time-need advice

Im either invisable or my post was so ridiculous that no one wants to comment on it. Btw...CEA from friday is still holding at 3.2, three weeks since the last chemo. And since I had a cold last week, they postponed my chemo for today. So it should be interesting to find what they are four weeks with...

Decreasing CEA for the first time-need advice

So I had my first surgery in May last year, they did a bowel resection and removed a hockey pick sized tumor that had burst through my colon wall. Due to this, there were tumor deposits noted in the fatty tissues that we removed. No lymph node involvement. Since we didnt know how many more, I underw...

Applied for SSDI less than a month ago

And was approved TODAY! I was so stressed out that it would be a battle, but alas, it was really easy. I called SSA with a few questions, and was encouraged to apply. The lady was very supportive and understanding. She herself is a cancer survivor. I finished the online application and submitted it ...

Re: Colon cancer mets to Ovary

Thankyou for the wonderful responses!

I feel very optimistic :)

Im wondering whether to get a second opinion from City of Hope, as well as my current oncologist. I wonder how that tumor could grow so rapidly while undergoing chemo, unless my oncologist missed it in November.
