Re: I stand up to use the word cure(d)....

So I'm bumping this up - because someone pointed it out to me, reminding me the grief I used to take by some people on this forum. And that by their standards, I can say I'm cured!!! And I coulda said it by their standards - 6 ...

Re: HAI PUMP REMOVED

I’m a 15+ year survivor so I no longer remember exactly when I had mine removed, but it was about a decade ago. It was non eventful AND I kept my pump. I have it displayed in a case for hockey pucks. I was the second person to sign up for the trial I was on. I heard a lot of negative comments from p...

It was 15 years ago today

My 43rd birthday..... and today I turn 58 - far exceeding most anyone's expectations. Here is my story. Every year, I come on, because when I was first dx'd I was looking for a long term Stage IV survivor. I would have loved to have seen this post and I made that promise, that every year on my birth...

Sixty-four-year-old John McCutcheon is a Wisconsin native. His album, Trolling for Dreams is a more personal one, with McCutcheon’s gift for turning individual experiences, either of his own or others, into impressive musical narratives, some of which are likely to bring a lump to your throat. Perha...

Re: I got second opinions- HAI pump, HIPEC, and now decisions

When I was dx'd over 14 years ago, things were not what they are today. I was given six months to live but said I could die at any moment. I wanted to find the super doctor - I went several places. I would suggest getting another opinion from Dr. Kemeny or head to MD Anderson or even the Mayo in Roc...

Re: Constipation vs Bowel Blockage whats the difference?

So if you have a blockage, everyone seems to take pain meds. Would it be bad to take a laxative if you had a blockage?

Re: Hospitals that install HAI pump?

FWIW, I had my Medtronic Pump implanted at the University of Minnesota in 2004. I didn't have any issues with it. I drove 16 hours roundtrip for the treatment that would save my life over 14 years ago.

I don't know if the U of MN still implants the pump.
