It was 15 years ago today

My 43rd birthday..... and today I turn 58 - far exceeding most anyone's expectations. Here is my story. Every year, I come on, because when I was first dx'd I was looking for a long term Stage IV survivor. I would have loved to have seen this post and I made that promise, that every year on my birth...

Re: Looking for inspirational or happy tunes

Sixty-four-year-old John McCutcheon is a Wisconsin native. His album, Trolling for Dreams is a more personal one, with McCutcheon’s gift for turning individual experiences, either of his own or others, into impressive musical narratives, some of which are likely to bring a lump to your throat. Re: I got second opinions- HAI pump, HIPEC, and now decisions

When I was dx'd over 14 years ago, things were not what they are today. I was given six months to live but said I could die at any moment. I wanted to find the super doctor - I went several places. I would suggest getting another opinion from Dr. Kemeny or head to MD Anderson or even the Mayo in Roc...

Re: Constipation vs Bowel Blockage whats the difference?

So if you have a blockage, everyone seems to take pain meds. Would it be bad to take a laxative if you had a blockage?

My oncologist was with the University of Minnesota. I would see a primary on occasion in my hometown, 8 hours away.

Re: Hospitals that install HAI pump?

FWIW, I had my Medtronic Pump implanted at the University of Minnesota in 2004. I didn't have any issues with it. I drove 16 hours roundtrip for the treatment that would save my life over 14 years ago.

I don't know if the U of MN still implants the pump.

Lee do you do anything to have a BM? I don't like to take medicine unless I have too.

Re: Constipation vs Bowel Blockage whats the difference?

Thank you Capercrohnieileo and erinnatacha . Did you try laxatives or anything to relieve it or did you call your doctor straight away?

This truly does help lesson my anxiety. I really appreciate you sharing.

Re: Constipation vs Bowel Blockage whats the difference?

Thank you so much for that response. It helped relieve my anxiety immensely. The fact that I had a BM.

When you say your husband tried everything, I'm assuming he tried Colace and Miralax?

Thank you....

Constipation vs Bowel Blockage whats the difference?

As a long term survivor, every other year I get constipated - and then I freak out. But I take a laxative and things clear up. But how do I know when to see a doctor. I felt I might have had a blockage because I felt a bit of pain in my upper abdomen. I was passing gas. I hadn't had a BM for 2 days ...
