Re: Reflections on caregiving

Wow. You have an excellent memory. Kiki just celebrated her 8th birthday. I check in on the boards but rarely post anymore. After Julie passed, I stopped checking all together. I am still on FB groups and am friends with some of the people in active treatment so I still see that. Our company is help...

Re: Reflections on caregiving

Thanks! MSK is a good one. I just am trying to figure out how to attach myself to a legit one and fundraise. Gives me ideas.

This board is always hard and inspiring at the same time. So sad about Bev too. She was always so helpful.

Re: Reflections on caregiving

Good luck everyone. I just wanted to drop a line because I rarely come on here anymore. I was a caregiver. And I got so much help from this board. I tried to give some of that help back in terms of advice to newbies. My ex and I are in the middle of a contentious divorce. I made friends with Julie Y...

Re: BrownBagger ....... I don't know what to say

Not on here much these days. Man, the hits keep coming. He's was always a regular and for some silly reason, I thought he'd always be here because I had no idea how he gardened and kept riding when he was dealing with all that he was... rest in peace, brave soul.

Re: Experience with Egg Harvesting due to potential ovary damage?

I'm so glad you did this. We didn't because everything was so rushed and we thought we were probably done having kids. They forgot to mention it as well. But I wish we did because the likelihood of us getting pregnant with serious help now is pretty small. Good luck with treatment.

Re: Second opinion

Yes, get a second opinion. It's not so much a second opinion on what you have but how to treat. The cancer hospitals and research centers have access to more types of treatment. You only have one shot at treatment and the farther along you are, the less room you have for any delay or things that you...

Re: Break from FOLFIRI for pregnancy?

I, too, would we worried about pregnancy and cancer. Your immune system is shot post treatment, during treatment, etc. Pregnancy doesn't help things. And if you ever had to decide between carrying your baby or treatment, that would be hell on earth. My friend did and of course, she chose her baby. S...

Thanks for posting. Wonder if no shield was used and no adjustment - of course I'm sure the direction of radiation is different for everyone.

Re: Checking in.....STILL here, question for NED'ers

Wow. So glad you posted this. Somehow I also thought when husband got to NED, it was "over" except if it came back. Well, that wasn't true because of all the symptoms from treatment. We/he still hasn't figure out what he can eat, what causes diarrhea/upset 2 years past treatment. In fact, ...
