Re: Had Colonoscopy today

Thanks SkiFletch, I'm going to, I'm going to see if it I can get that appointment moved up, I don't want to wait until the 22nd of August...I think that is crazy. Even though they were small it still worries me. I hate that I have had to change doctors, would have preferred to have stuck with my ori...

Re: Had Colonoscopy today

Thanks Rick, I'm glad I'm able to get the medical care. I'm staying positive about it, I think if a doctor had come in to speak with me afterwards would have helped. I have faith in the members here and this site. Don't know what I would have done when I was going through chemo if I had not found th...

Re: Mammography vs CT scans

A few months ago at one of my cancer support groups here, we had a Radiologist came to our meeting and I asked him the same question and he gave me basically the same answer...that YES we still need them. When I had my first CT/Pet scan after my resection they found 2 lumps but what they didn't see ...

Re: Scans week of the 17th

I don't have a scan scheduled but I go see my Onc tomorrow, follow up and labs. I have a question, I finished chemo in Jan of 2011, last scan was June 2011, how often do they normally do scans after you've completed treatment? Thanks :)

Re: Hand and Foot Syndrome

Thanks RX, She always wears socks and good fitting shoes, but it is very warm here. She is what they would consider high functioning, there is what seems to be a disconnect when it comes to pain/nausea. The chemo or radiation has had any ill effects on her, no nausea, just a little tingling in her t...

Hand and Foot Syndrome

I have a question about Hand and foot syndrome, when I was on chemo, mine was mostly dry, peeling skin. I have a friend that's elderly Aunt has Esophageal cancer and she has Autism. She has gone through 5 weeks of chemo and radiation and now is on a 2nd round of chemo with 5FU continously, she goes ...

Re: Falling accidents

My last chemo treatment was a year ago January. During chemo I would have trouble sometimes with my balance, staggering and my left leg would drag on me after I had walked a little ways and falling. I was very lucky that what little neuropathy I had was just some tiggling in my finger tips and when ...

Re: Almost done with chemo!! Neuropathy Question

Hi Holly, my neuropathy didn't come on until later in my treatment too. I finished mid January and still have a little tingling in 2 fingers on each hand and just slightly in the end of my toes. I was about 20 minutes into my 11th round and had a severe allergic reaction to the infusion, didn't have...

Re: When to get Port removed?

I'm surprised you were awake to have it put in, I was knocked out :) I finished my chemo in January and also in June, I just got my port out a week ago and was also knocked out then too, even though it only took about 10 mins. My Onc had wanted to leave if for a few months and then recently gave me ...
