I Know, I've Been MIA

Hi everyone. I apologize for being MIA for the past few months. I was busy trying to look for a new job and the good news is that I have found one and have been working since Feb. 17th. I was able to stay in the racing industry doing IT work. In fact I am heading to Phoenix tomorrow for the race. Do...

Re: treatment for rectal fistula?

I had one presumably caused from radiation damage or possible staple problem. I had to undergo another LAR and wound up with a permanent colostomy due to so much scar tissue. Definitely not a pleasant experience.

That's cool, hope it works. Foobs don't look or feel like the real thing. But at least they don't sag.

Re: Gofisch still in the hospital 16 days post-take down

I am so sorry that you are going through this. I had a blockage a month later after my ileostomy take down. That is some of the worst pain that I have been through. I am glad that they have you on some good narcotics for the pain. I am keeping you in my prayers and hope that things will work out wit...

Re: CT finds a new mass, but PET doesn't light up

Hey Bagman. I remember you from the UOAA forum. I am keeping you in my prayers that this turns out to be nothing. I know my scans show abnormal tissue because of the radiation but the PET shows no uptake. I will keep my fingers crossed!

No Unemployment If You Have Been On Disability

I have just found this out and not sure if this applies to all states, but at least here in NC, I am screwed. As you may know, I was laid off the first of the month. Luckily I am still on disability until the end of the year but called the unemployment office yesterday to find out about unemployment...

Re: Just Got Laid Off

The company downsized from 350 to about 75 last November. I have been out on disability for a year and was due to go back in January. I went by there on Friday to say hello to everyone and told them the doctor said I could come back at the first of the year. It's awfully funny how three days later I...

I am sorry that you are back in chemoland. But I am happy that you have such a wonderful oncologist! That makes all the difference in the world doesn't it? I will keep you in my prayers and hope that the pain goes away. Keep kicking cancer's rear!

Every PAP smear that I have had for the past three years have been abnormal and I was told it was due to the radiation. My doctor told me not to worry about it.

Re: Blue Strikes Back!!!

Oh yeah, I remember that marathon when I lived in St. Augustine. It was organized by Donna Hicken, which I guess is now Deegan, when she was DX with breast cancer. That is a pretty big run now isn't it? This is what we need to see with colon cancer. We need to get some cute, snappy names to stick in...
