Denied

In my two year quest for remission I've never been denied chemo. It finally happened. Two weeks in a row my hemoglobin count was too low of treatment. It's disappointing to get denied. After the first denial I went in for a blood transfusion. Then the next week it was still too low. Now my leg's are...

It's been a while

I've been enduring chemo for two continuous years. Only to have my cancer worsen. It is extremely hard to stay positive when all you het is bad news. If it wasn't for my immediate family, kids and my church family I would have given up a long time ago. Everyone keep your head high and try not let th...

When to say, No More!

I've been battling Stage IV colon cancer for two years. Three surgeries, new tumors and lots of anxiety. My Oncologists sent me in for a CT scan today thinking I have another tumor growing in my abdomen. If I find out I have another tumor brewing in my stomach I'm not sure I want to keep enduring ch...

Re: My sister abandoned me after diagnosis

Im sorry about you and your sisters situation. My therapist says that some people just can't handle the stress of maybe losing a family member. My wife has left me and my three kids. She just disappeared. She hasn't seen her kids in a long time. She is an alcoholic and who knows what else is going o...

Re: Feeling really low! - GOOD NEWS

I got my PET scan results today. And it appears to not be a tumor! YEAH! The doctors classification is confusing to me and maybe you all can help me understand it better. "Two Foci of intense activity in the left anterior abdominal wall. Differential includes Postoperative change versus metasta...

Is there anyone out there that has had a colon resection, And had a new tumor begin to grow in the same place? If so, did you have more surgery? Get another colostomy?

Re: Recovery time from and experience with ileostomy reversal?

I had my reversal 12 days ago and I'm doing very well. The pain from reversal was more intense than my resection. I wasn't able to get the same dosages of pain medicine due to the fact that the pain medicine causes constipation. The BM's started the next day. I was releasing alot of liquid. Somewher...

I'm starting my clear liquid diet tomorrow for my reversal on Wednesday. This was a good post to have on my side going into the reversal process. I'm certainly excited about the surgery. It seems strange that a person would be excited about surgery. But I've been waiting on this one for 8 months. Th...

I am in the same situation. The tumor in my colon was so large they couldn't do a complete colonsocopy, but was resectable. Also, I have mets to the liver and lungs. My oncologist tells me that my liver is not resectable. The Chemotherapy has shrunk all of my tumors considerably. I was diagnosed on ...

Today my smile was really big. My two daugthers and I were baptized. It was really magical. Also, I had alot of friends and family there to share our experience. My Aunt gave me a great gift.
