Re: Third line of defense

Radioactive beads impregnated with y90 are injected into your liver. It worked well for me. Search the site for y90, sirspheres, or theraspheres and you will find lots of info about the various options. And ask for oncologist about it. I asked to Onc and he said there are too many tumors, I reminde...

Third line of defense

I just learned that folfori is no longer working for me. I already ran the course with folfox and 5fu alone. I'm wondering what other chemo regiments are out there. When I was first dx'd I was told there were a few but don't know what the others are. Any input on other chemo or those of you who have...

Re: Experiences with Liver biliary drain or stent?

What a timely post. I too need to have one placed. They will "try" to place the stent "inside" but if they can't reach it I too will need an external one. I am wondering if anyone had it and it removed some other issues. I've had digestion issues feel bloated bad heartburn. Hopin...

Re: Anyone (besides me) have an autoimmune disease?

I had mild/moderate RA. I had two thoughts go through my head.... 1. my body knew something was wrong (the cancer) but couldn't "find" it, so it went on attack. 2. (Which I feel much stronger about) The drugs I took for the RA lowered my immune system, and allowed the cancer to take hold.

Amazing Day Amazing Grace

yesterday marked my 4 1/2 year anniversary from DX. I was DX at stage IV with unnummable mets to my liver, which they said made me inoperable. I have been on STEADY Chemo for this entire time. Taking an extra week or two here and there. I did folfox. 5fu alone, and currently on folfiri . My CEA is n...

Re: The Strain Of Living With Advanced Cancer

Beautiful honest blog. I feel that I "live" well, but the thoughts are always right below the surface. I keep on "planning" trips, parties, all things to promote normalcy. And like you I decided to make my surroundings nicer, new furniture, small travel trailer and truck for vaca...

Re: sloan Kettering, costs, insurance etc.

One might try to find medical experience with more off label "rocks" to throw at this stuff. Did your MCV results have an artillery shell trajectory with 5FU alone where it dropped from a high (100s/90s) on treatment, back to pre-chemo original level (70s/80s/90s) when the 5FU started to ...
