Re: Newly diagnosed, now my mom

I see you have four boys???? Did I see that right? You have to be made out of STEEL to begin with! :D Wishing you and your Mom the very best,..... Yeah,..I went years with symptoms,..and just ignored them. Big mistake. I kept thinking that whatever it was,..I always got over it. Thank goodness your ...

Re: The Grim Reaper took another swipe at me !!

glad to get the update about Frenchie. I come here and lurk ever-so-often to check up and see how everyone is doing. It's so true that this place gets to seem like "family",...and even though we've never met,...I feel like I know many here. I find that I care very much what is happening to...

Oh wow,...CONGRATS!
Here's hoping you have many, many, MANY more cancerversarys! I'm 3 years out from hearing those awful words from the Doc. ("It's cancer"). So my fingers are crossed for us both. :D

Re: Happy 4th cancerversary to me

CONGRATS!!! As of this upcoming February (Feb. 19th),...I will be 3 years NED, from diagnosis. I don't post much here in the forum lately,...but I visit a lot. I like to keep touch with what's happening with everyone. And you know, cancer really changes your life, and your whole viewpoint from then ...

Re: NED's are you following a diet & exercising or living your life as before?

I turned 70,...so that is also a big factor for me to consider, as well as trying to keep cancer from recurring. I now try to religiously eat right (basic "real" food,...mostly veggies, a little fish and chicken now and then, etc. etc.)...exercise fairly regularly,..walk a LOT! Take suppli...

Re: To ALL here

Thank you for this beautiful post. It came at the time I needed to "hear" these words the most. My dear brother (my only sibling) has passed a few days ago. He had rectal cancer (was diagnosed after I was finishing my chemo for colon cancer). He was scheduled for his re-section on the 8th,...

Re: Hey--What's up with NED Posters?

Another NED poster...lots of reasons to be around...first one never knows when one goes from NED to full blown cancer again. I'm sure most of us were not told that there was a 100 percent certainty that the cancer was gone for good. This forum has great information just in case that big "C&quo...

Re: Calling all June Birthdays

My upcoming b'day is on the 23rd. The "BIG SEVEN-O"!!!!! Can't believe it,..since I never really ever felt my age. Surely I'm not about to turn 70? When I have always told people my age,..they always get that shocked look and exclaim "No! That's not true,..you can't be" etc. etc....

Yes,...I TOTALLY understand about teeny, tiny, microscopic budgets!!!! Being retired on a super-tiny little "fixed" income, I too am very aquainted with sqeezing the holy daylights out of a penny. I don't even own a car. That may well work in my favor in a sense,...as I get out and do a LO...

Re: New to Cancer

Hey,.. welcome to the forum. I was intitially misdiagnosed (emergency surgery for diverticulitus, they thought). Lab came back positive for cancer. Yes,...the first time you hear that word, it's totally SCARY, and you can't quite wrap your mind around it. I don't know about using essential oils for ...

Re: Haircut story

I love this story! Thanks for sharing. Actually, when I started chemo,...they all said "Don't worry,...your hair may thin a bit, but not all come out". They lied. It all fell out in handfulls. I cried awhile,...then said (@@%&***&&%%@@@@) and stuff like that,...and got a razor....

Re: How did you find out about CRC?

A question that haunts me. How long did she have this? Outside of a 2x/yr head or chest cold, Katie was never sick. Worked 12 hr shifts in a medical office, great appetite, always full of energy. If her tumor began on the inside rather than the outside of her ascending colon, it may have presented ...
