Re: Cancer in Lymph Nodes

Thank you all. I didn't have any problems with the 5FU the first time so hopefully this will be not so bad. I've already changed my diet and started supplements trying to hold off anymore traveling of the cancer until I can get somewhere. I'm trying to go to cancer treatment centers of America and i...

Re: Cancer in Lymph Nodes

Thanks to you both. Mine is from my rectal cancer. When I was first diagnosed they did surgery but did not do radiation before. The folks at CTCA believe that may be why this has spread.

Cancer in Lymph Nodes

Does anyone have any information that you could share with me regarding treatment when it is in the Lymph system? I did not get a lot of positive vibes from my doctors but I have contacted Cancer Treatment Centers of America and feel better than I did.

Re: Hike in CEA

Well it's me again, I've been bouncing all over this board tonight. I got PET results tonight and apparently the CEA test is a good marker for me. I show to have cancer in lymph nodes including para aortic nodes which I understand is not good. Is there anyone here who is dealing with the same thing?...

Re: Rising CEA and Clear PET Scans

I got my results from my PET today and a call from my onco but I still don't know anything except it's not good. Apparently my cancer is back around my resection location and aortic lymph node. I did get the feeling there isn't much that could be done other than chemo for life. It's a lot to take in...

Re: Rising CEA and Clear PET Scans

I'm kind of in the same boat. I have been NED since March 2012 but my CEA was from 2.9 to 4.5in July 2015 and 4.7 in January 2016 but in July 2016 it was 19.8 so I had a chest to mid thigh CT scan which was clear. I had CEA checked again in August 2016 and it was 21.4 so now I've had a PET/CT yester...

Re: Hike in CEA

Thanks for sharing that. I went back on the 24th for another blood test and had changed my diet to less low carb hoping if my colon was happier my CEA would be lower but it was 21.4 this time. My doctor isn't concerned as I just had a colonoscopy and the recent CT scan. My sister has a friend whose ...

Re: Hike in CEA

I am a little confused but certainly not complaining. My CT scan was of chest and lower body and showed nothing abnormal. My oncologist said that the rectal biopsy I had in May could have been the cause. I wouldn't have thought so but I did read that in any of the places that CEA levels rise with ca...

Re: Hike in CEA

I had my last CT last June and had another one today but haven't gotten results yet. I hope to tomorrow. I am nervous but hopeful that it is something other than cancer again. They always scan my chest and lower body. Thank you all for your responses.

Hike in CEA

I have been NED since February 2013 and all follow up blood work and CT scans have been good. The highest CEA has until now has been 4.5. I had a rectal biopsy under general anesthesia in May of this year and the CEA in July is 19.8. My oncologist said it could be due to the surgical biopsy which wa...

Re: Enema therapy

Thank you all. I'm going to give it a go I think. Like many I just have a straight connect and with no place to hold stool it just expels small amounts all day depending on how much I eat. I eat mainly meat and salads to control my weight but added benefiber this week to see if that helps. Thanks ag...

Enema therapy

I joined this forum several years ago when I was diagnosed with stage 3c rectal cancer. It was so helpful to me then and I'm hoping to get some new information from others who know about it. I am finding that after 2 years from my reversal I am having trouble emptying my colon. I wondered if anyone ...

Re: Anyone else with this one.

Not that but I'm 55 and finished round 12 of folfox just before Thanksgiving last year. Went to have an eye exam this month and was told I have cataracts that are probably due to my having received chemo. Never heard that either.
