Re: Fingertip and toe numbness from Cape or Oxaly?

I never took Oxaly, but I had a bad case of HFS & still have issues with cold hands/feet. If my hands get cold I need an external source to get warm again. Sometimes walk around with my hands tucked under my armpits. I get the not liking your feet hot so I would suggest testing cold sources on m...

Re: Radiation Xeloda Side Effects Question

I'm sorry I didn't see your post earlier - not on so much anymore.

Sorry for the loss of your mother. Feel free to PM if it might give you some comfort.

Peace,

Kristi

Re: Study - Sensitive Topics

As a non practicing lesbian, when I was finished with treatment I remember the doc telling me it was ok to resume sexual relations (assuming I WAS having that) and all I could think was a penis MIGHT go up there butt that lesbian sex was going to be next to impossible. So ask away!

Re: Isolation

Hi Dan. This is a difficult journey and not for the faint of heart. Making peace with your situation can be very helpful... if you hang onto anger it's pretty difficult to move forward. We all need to mourn the person we were before and figuring out who our new us is a process that takes time. Be ki...

Trauma informed care

So after getting triggered from last weeks hearings and having an unpleasant dental experience I was wondering if anyone had experienced Trauma Informed Care while getting treatment.

I had some very negative experiences during treatment and was wondering if other people experienced more sensitivity.

I too am saddened by her passing. She was so supportive to so many here and had a great attitude. She will be sorely missed.

RIP dear Bev. Love & peace to your family and friends.

Re: Mom's ileostomy reversal 07/24/18

I highly suggest getting a bidet seat/attachment. I have a "Biffy" that has saved my ass. Wiping is so painful and no wipe is as gentle as water. Some of the models heat the water. Barriers help, butt then when you go you now have slippery poop/barrier which is even MORE difficult to deal ...

Re: Excited about a root canal!

I think I cracked a tooth (upper end molar) on an apple peel of all things and I'm looking forward to getting it capped. I understand being happy. Enjoy eating!

Re: 12th cancer birthday on june 6

Helen, thank you for sharing. Surviving is such a difficult journey butt we are mostly thankful to be able to be on the journey.

I'm in my sixth year of and only just beginning to share my struggle with others - they often assume you're good to go after treatment...

Peace to you in your journey.

Re: New member with Xeloda question for Stage II

I had a bad case of HFS. It was so painful to touch and walk. I wore cotton gloves to protect my hands and soft wool socks on my feet. Lotions did nothing for my HFS & in fact made my feet feel hotter. Everyone experiences chemo differently. My HFS (neuropathy - dr's words) took 3 years to go aw...

Boxhill, as I mentioned in my post I have not done research. My point in posting was to let people know that they can decline a treatment.

Glad to be of help. I guess then the efficacy is related to Lynch. I hate to see people suffer if it's not necessary.

I declined Oxaliplatin

HI Folks, I was reading a post on length of neuropathy after being on Oxaliplatin. I had two thoughts: One - I feel bad for those with the long term side effects. Two - I'm happy I declined taking it. I had a difficult time with Xeloda and HFS. After my surgery and during "mop up" time I h...
