Re: For Stage III's: NED for how long now?

I was diagnosed 4/2012 and am still cancer free. I have a colonoscopy scheduled for 4/27. Fingers crossed.

Re: New poster colon no lymph nodes? Bunriv

I was diagnosed with stage 3A colon cancer in the spring of 2012. I had one positive node, out of 4 nodes that had been removed. The surgeon said he didn't see any other nodes. I was 54 and otherwise healthy. As far as I know, I'm still cancer free.

Re: POLL: How many polyps did you have at your first post-diagnosis colonoscopy?

I had three polyps at my first scope, which was done right after I completed treatment. I had two the next year. They were all benign so my doc thought it wax fine to wait 2 years for my next scope. I'm scheduled the first week of January for my next scope, so we'll see.

Re: thinking of you, BELLE

Your dinner sounds yummy. You know your heart. You have my support.

Glad your onc was so supportive and I'm crossing my fingers that hospice helps you stay as comfortable as possible.

Your honesty is deeply moving.

Re: Arthritis and hip and back pain after folfox

I do a lot of yoga. I am lucky to live somewhere with a high number of alignment based Iyengar styled instructors who can help with modifications. I also worked with a physical therapist for several months last year when first diagnosed with left hip OA, and turned my PT exercises into a 30 minute y...

Re: For Stage III's: NED for how long now?

I was diagnosed in April 2012 and had surgery that month. I started treatment in May and completed it in November of 2012. I have been NED at all follow-up exams, so I guess that makes me 2 years and 8 months, if we count from my surgery date. I had a scan on Monday and it was clear.

Re: Arthritis and hip and back pain after folfox

I have arthritis in my right hip since completing 12 treatments of FOLFOX ( only the first 4 with oxaliplatin). I am 56, almost 57, so it's tempting to attribute it to age, but I was extremely active prior to my diagnosis, running half marathons, and taking long day hikes in the 10-16 mile range. I ...

Re: Onc In SF South Bay?

Ideally, you should not translate for your mom in the medical setting, unless you are trained to do so. Many south bay facilities utilize translation services that provide phone or video translators during the actual appointment. You may want to ask providers about this, once you get a list of oncol...
