Re: 2 years 7 months since last resection

Kiwi,
Nice to see you! And congrats! I'm in a similar boat. If scans are clear in a couple weeks, will be two years since liver resection (so NED). I also lurk and read but don't post often these days.

Wonderful news! Good luck with the marathon!

Re: Who are the longest stage 4 survivor's on here?

I was diagnosed in 2012 and I'm still here! Pending my CEA test today, colonoscopy on Thursday, and scans in two weeks, I'm hoping to celebrate 2 years NED on November 4th!

Re: Folfirinox plus Avastin

I did this exact regimen for several rounds, eventually the oxali was dropped. I had very good response, decreasing my tumor bourdon tremendously, enough to qualify me for hipec and liver resection and I have been NED for 18 months.

Re: Liver resection at Sloan - updates

So good to hear from you and that all went well! You will be very tired for a while! I got the best sleep of my life after liver resection. I actually would fall asleep eating at the hospital!

Re: First blog post in a long time.

Thanks skypup, my surgeon (who is still doing my scans) said we are not in freak out mode yet, so I'm staying zen about it, it could be blood vessels, the way I was positioned, scar tissue, but it warrants a closer look, so that's what we will do! In funnier news, I completely fainted after they put...

Jillbugs...thank you for your words...I did not have any peritoneal drop mets...but I did have mets to the omentum (the layer of the peritoneum that surrounds the abdominal organs). Re: First blog post in a long time.

Thanks Skypup! And you nailed it too...the fact that we still do it, live in that life, wear the clothes, go through the motions, but we are not that person and everyone else thinks we are!

I aspire to write like her, to live like her, I'm sad to not have known her. She left her mark on many. So beautiful.

First blog post in a long time.

I've been writing a bit here and there but not like I used to, and not publicly. This one has been mulling around in my head for a bit, not ready to put it on facebook but wanted to share it with you guys here.

Re: I Admit I Am Jealous and Angry And Missing Belle (NW Girl)

Thank you for a beautifully written piece. The jealousy is natural, I think that we all must experience it to some degree but often don't speak it. I have felt bad sharing good news, but this community was the first I joined in 2012 when I was diagnosed and told incurable and chemo for life, and eve...

Thanks Jan, I'm really looking forward to it, the area looks stunning!

Kenny...you read my mind, haha...

I am looking forward to it, I've never been on a trip with complete strangers before though, I hope there's beer.
