Re: I lost :)

Yes- lost whilst shaving 4 days beard off standing at hospital sink. Devoutly happy it was a floor drain/tiled area. Oh- up thread mentions of Peristeen Anal Tampons do raise the "why not sold in USA?" query. I've over my life indeed used damned near to every control device I dared to try,...

Re: On surgeon's advice, going to try the - gulp - daily ene

I've been a frequent- almost Daily- user of enemas since about age 15. I'd had a few before then but 15 was when I'd been taught the basics of proper procedure. This is supposed to be COMFORT as well as mere mechanical function and it so does not have to be torture for effective results. Simply put,...

Re: Clear anal mucus question

Hopefully the scoping came out fine. Also, many of us with extreme rectal wetness have been "Off Label" using tampons instead of pads or diapers and in the EU/Canada- there are purpose designed anal tampons so there is medical precedent. I've been using tampons that way since my pre-teens ...

Re: I am a newbie with all of this and need some help

Finding out "why" you are having these functional issues is often an exasperating process of elimination diets, medical tests- and trying a bunch of things. So yo move to symptom and comfort management. Food Diaries- and logging symptoms for finding out interactions can often help pin down...

Resected foot of sigmoid and half my bladder. Detail snipped but yeah- survival is often possible.

Re: I lost :)

There IS an anal tampon!

in the UK&Canada the Coloplast company markets them. Damned pricey butfor some of us - maybe worth it...

Well snipping the from DX to surgery? I survived basically a foot of rectosigmoid colon being removed and half my bladder. No ostomies. Got through chemo amazingly well no hair loss and last chemo jul 2011- back to work oct 2011- only exasperating consequences were&are- Chemo neuropathy- managed...

Re: Need help from my fellow Enema-ites!!!!!!

Hernia and ANY change in bowel function/comfort becomes a Master Caution Light so to speak. Depending on your personal situation- it could be nothing beyond the exasperation of hernia - or Something Very Bad. From which it becomes- yeah- a trip to doc pending establishing "safe" use of ene...

Re: Need help from my fellow Enema-ites!!!!!!

My sincere heart&gut felt empathy about this. Happened to me 2 days ago on the road. Walked around the hotel room nearly an hour trying to get unstuck as I felt bloated by maybe a full quart salt&soda solution STUCK in my higher areas. The reverse of what some folks on the thread describe or...

Re: Colon Resection Digestion

From maybe shortly pre-puberty- I never knew "normal" digestion, and i was in horrid pain from IBS C&D. not helped by mother's use of oral laxatives. instead of other treatments. And the embarassment of frequent messes. Encopresis is so NOT only a psychologically caused condition. Some...

ALL of the above tips plus a consideration of keeping a cooling pack in a smallish insulated box on sideboard etc. Ranges from simplistic stuff like chilled washrag in ziplock up to gelpack masks kept chilled. Comfort's worth the effort.

Re: Stem cell therapy

Well- we're in a span of years of 'less likely" political roadblocks but only one election away from losing it all. Sad Truth- till we have a president with a "Personal" reason to cure cancer- it's likely to remain lip service. The better answer to this includes how the first reply ph...
