Re: Infertility and Advocacy

All but one of the 2019 featured survivors and caregivers will be there. Our President, Trish Lannon, and our VP of Operations, Kristina Smith, will also attend. I'm sure there will be others, but I don't have a full list.

Retreat Applications due TODAY!

Just a quick reminder that applications for our retreat (lovingly called Colon Camp) are due by 2/1. This is for survivors and caregivers with an under 50 years old diagnosis. Panel Discussion- Early Onset vs. Older Patients

I was very excited to participate in a panel discussion at USC Norris Comprehensive Cancer Center on Doctor/Patient communication. One of the topic questions asked by Dr. Afsaneh Barzi related to being seen/treated through the lens of an older patient even though I fall into the early onset patient ...

Re: Using a vaginal dilator after radiation

These are the ones my PT recommended. Much less painful than the hard plastic ones. They're firm but flexible, so it allows you to Get better stretches. https://www.soulsource.com/collections/silicone-vaginal-dilators I had to change physical therapists, and both used "Slippery Stuff" lubr...

Just to clarify, the liver will regrow with a resection, but not with a lobectomy. With the lobectomy, whatever remains will grow to about 2/3 of your full liver. Still plenty of liver to have normal function.

Cancer and Careers is a great resource. You should check them out. https://www.cancerandcareers.org/enBTW, definitely a no on mentioning cancer. Look at it this way - if he had diabetes, so you feel like you owe it to them to tell them? Nope.
