Re: Topical for Erbitux rash?

Larry found some relief from Neutrogena moisturizer. His was so dry and scaly that the moisture seemed to be what he needed. Clindamycin made the skin peel off his face. Also, scalpicin worked great in his hair and beard.....stopped the burning, prickling sensation at least. When he lost most of his...

Re: My sweet Wayne is very critcal!

Becky, I am so very sorry to hear this. I know the fear that lives with you every second of every day. Try to focus on being his wife and not his caregiver now. Let hospice and friends and family help as much as they will. Lay with him. Talk to him. Cry with him. Touch him. Then touch him some more....

Re: Steroid Questions

Bev, Yes, Larry was diagnosed with steroid induced Addison's Disease. He also had Cushing's syndrome, and we were able to decrease the dex and eventually start him on Prednisone to address the Cushing's (the severe weight gain in his upper body, purple stretch marks, thinning skin). He was never abl...

Re: Avastin warriors - Any advice?

Larry had nosebleeds from the first infusion of Avastin. They didn't get really bad until about the 6th one. Blood pressure elevation is something to watch for...Larry started BP meds after his second infusion....and palpations during the infusion. Nothing too horrible, and he ended up receiving 8 t...

Re: This HELPED my stupid neuropathic feet!

Larry LOVED Biofreeze!!! I have a Morton's Neuroma that has developed in my right foot. The symptoms are intense, burning pain in one area of my foot. I'm gonna try this today and see if I can get some relief! The treatment for MN is steroids. I politely declined those and figured I'd tough this one...

Re: Steroid Questions

Ashlee, for Larry steroids were a double edged sword. He needed them initially to control nausea and vomiting from chemo. Like N&V that ended us back in for fluids every other day....so he received the Decadron during infusion and then 5 days at home. Eventually 5 days wasn't enough and they inc...

They keep on coming.... 2) A good pair of channel locks makes me stronger than I ever thought possible. 3) No woman should ever be forced to clean out her own garbage toter. Ever. Period. 4) I will be buying Glad Force Flex trash...

Larry is healed

Larry won his battle with this disease last night at 7:50 pm. He finished the race with grace, strength and dignity and is now whole, healed and with his Saviour. He was surrounded by friends and family, and his actual moment of death was beautiful. I will have to share that story sometime. We were ...

Blessings mixed with pain

Wednesday was our youngest child's birthday. He asked for us all to go to lunch together. That's what he wanted as a gift. So, we pulled together and Larry rallied and for the first time in almost two weeks Larry left the house. Levi got his wish! I don't know how Larry did it. He was in pain and un...
